  1. From www.xe.com : 3,400,000 USD to AUD = 5,092,961.93 Australian Dollars Craig
  2. I'm not surprised, as a 1978 Falcon XC Cobra (of which 400 were made) now changes hands in the three-figure range. Craig
  3. A 'delete' option is where it was standard equipment from the factory, but one could special order the car without it. Because a clock was an extra-cost option on that particular model, and it wasn't ordered, it had a 'plate' or 'blank' or 'cover', (depending what the parts catalog called it.) in its place. Does anyone have a 1958 Oldsmobile parts catalog that mentions it? Craig
  4. I wonder WHY that tag is affixed to it like a licence plate. No one I know would display the original invoice of their car pop-riveted to the fender behind clear Plexiglas. Craig
  5. If the lowest line model had an 8-day clock, its an easy switch. Otherwise, identify the make, (Borg? New Haven?) and match it up with an identical brand and face diameter wind-up clock from the same era. The hand shaft diameters should be the same to make an easy switchover for the hands, and the same diameter face would ensure the distance from the hand shafts to the reset/stemwinder is the same so as not to have to modify the Buick clock face any. Craig
  6. The headlights appear to be 'Depress Beam Headlight' by C.M. Hall Light Co., Detroit, Mich.
  7. That is correct, unless one order the bucket seats (!) https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Cadillac/1966_Cadillac_VVI.pdf Craig
  8. 1955 truck hood. The recessed area should be red in color: https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/tech-talk/93873-half-ton-truck-hoods Craig
  9. Grey does not look out of place on a huge luxury car in my eyes. There are some shades of green I cannot stand on any car; luxury, or brand new econobox. Craig
  10. The 1966 Fleetwood Brougham is the nicest for interior opulence. https://www.leftcoastclassics.com/1966-cadillac-fleetwood/ It really was competition for an RR Silver Shadow, which was new on the market at the time. It is a shame Cadillac never maintained their 'Standard of the World' elegance and reputation. Craig
  11. Its kind of unfortunate, but they go where the majority of the cars are. A Studebaker owner often faces the same problem being a minority as far as surviving cars and trucks. Besides the Studebaker Drivers Club which caters to ALL Studebakers, motorized and non-motorized and post-Studebaker Avantis, there is the Antique Studebaker Club for 1946 & older cars and 1948 & earlier trucks. And there is the Avanti Owners Association which is for all Avantis, ones made by Studebaker and later. Craig
  12. I can see it being useful today. The rider in one can hold up a big, red cardboard arrow every time the driver wants to make a left turn. Craig
  13. That restorations is looking great, especially with those new floors!! Was it originally green? Or that 'Desert Glow' color seen peeking through where its been sanded, or the green has peeled away? Keep us posted with your progress! Craig
  14. It is not a 'delete'. A clock was always an option on the 88 models. Craig
  15. If the car was assembled in Canada, or sold new in Canada, the Production Order is available from Vintage Vehicle Services: https://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/ Craig
  16. Here is a 1917 Mercer: https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/stove-huggers-the-non-studebaker-forum/53353-orphan-of-the-day-06-15-1917-mercer Craig
  17. Studebakers also used them on their '47-'52 convertibles. Craig
  18. I'd like to see some photos of your car. Here's another European-market Rockne: https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/members-studebaker-pictures/99139-1933-rockne-deluxe-roadster?96800-1933-Rockne-DeLuxe-Roadster= Craig
  19. Do any of them have options listed, other than clincher rims and/or electric starter? Craig
  20. There was a similar accessory offered in England. There were several map scrolls offered of different major highways where one loaded it before travelling with the map of the route they were going to drive. The driver lined up the starting city of their destination with the red marker on the scroll housing. The take-up roller was spliced to the speedometer cable and the map would automatically scroll along in sync as per speed and miles traveled. Craig
  21. I believe Pontiac offered power windows for the 'front only' in 1954 as well. In Ford's case, 1954 was not the first year for power windows. They were standard (front & rear) on the 1946-'48 Ford Sportsman. Craig
  22. If you're looking for an Avalon, consider a 2004-2007 Volkswagen Phaeton. And you might find one with a W12. A VERY undermarketed car at the time. Its everything an Audi A8 is and more. Craig
  23. I posted a photo of an Equus here-------------------> https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/stove-huggers-the-non-studebaker-forum/76084-saw-my-first-equus Craig
  24. It was, until 2017 when Hyundai decided to make it a standalone marque. It replaces the Equus. Craig
  25. The same was true of the John Lennon Rolls Royce Phantom. RR would not paint it the way he wanted it done, agreeing to supply it only in black. Craig
