  1. I do have to laugh. My wife swears by the Mac (retired teacher) and I swear at it. I had no training on that Apple decades ago and never could get the hang of it. I guess that's why some of us like manuals and others automatics.
  2. Not too computer savvy, but purchased my SONY 16.4" lap top from Micro Center almost 6 years ago. I use ESET Antivirus/Antispyware and have had no issues - so far. Hesitant to change from 7 to Win 10, but only because we have an older printer that driver doesn't seem to be available. I like the idea of getting a separate large, high resolution screen. Good luck. http://www.microcenter.com/
  3. I think they got tossed because they were a pain to re-install, if they had to be removed - at least on my 29U Plymouth. The entire exhaust pipe/ muffler must be undone from the manifold back to get that pan wrangled out. It might be easier with a lift; a luxury I don't have.
  4. For a 1929U Plymouth, the Parts Manual calls it a Spark Plug Tube. I don't have a picture of the entire part, but you can see the it is tubular. If you can find a parts book for your REO, use that term.
  5. Here's more info I should have provided. Did not touch mating surfaces of spokes at the hub and numbered everything before dis-assembly. Bob Z provided a great explanation complete with pictures. (To be original, my entire wheel should be painted to match the body, in my case a dark blue. I've been thinking it might be time to paint them. Plymouth didn't offer natural finish until the '30U, and it cost extra.) My replacement bolts were Model T hub bolts. They are correct diameter for my Plymouth, but needed to be cut to length. They have the correct mushroom head as the original.bolts. A local store, Little Dearborn, specializes in Model T, A and early Ford parts. They were kind enough to let me select completely rounded heads from their stock. My main concern in assembly was ensuring the hub axis was perpendicular with the felloe. I measured a lot, but the tight fit probably helped.
  6. I used a MINWAX product. Indoor/Outdoor Spar Urethane, Clear Gloss. Claim is provides "Exceptional Protection From Sunlight, Rain/Moisture, Temperature Changes. No stain was used. Brushed on 6 coats, after wheels were assembled, sanding between coats with 220 grit according to instructions. (added picture)
  7. Door condition reminds me of my '73 Gran Torino Sport. That wasn't the only place my poor car was rusty, either. The color was Medium Copper Metallic, which appears much like this car. Thanks for your work and posting on the forum.
  8. My current average is 3.5 years. Wife's "new" 2009 MKZ and 2014 Mustang Convert. Has never been this low. I don't see another new car in my future, unless I happen upon a wonderful, inexpensive '29 Plymouth Roadster. Replaced my '73 Gran Torino Sport in '93 with used '89 Mustang convert. Replaced 89 in 2008 with 2003 convert. Replaced that with a new 2014 at my wife's insistence, she didn't like the way the 03 rear end sounded and we were planning a +1200 mile trip. It was barely broken in with a little over 119,000. Wife has gone through a Cutlass, Reliant, Sable, Chrysler of some ilk since 1981. The salt treatment in winter here is very hard on the metal. These cars were/are all daily drivers.
  9. Yes, the fittings go through the springs. Unsure of their purpose, but I keep the lid just above the rim of outer can; for what it's worth.
  10. Try here for Snubber Belt. http://www.restorationstuff.com/featured9.html Only 3/16" thick though and wider than 1 1/4"
  11. Great looking car. I wish I could help you.
  12. Unfortunately I can't help with your carb problem, but let me offer this. The manual says to use Wheeler-Schebler for service, not necessarily that carb. They could have been an authorized service for Stromberg. United Motors Service did not manufacture items listed, but "provid[ed] convenient and economical maintenance and warranty service in the field for ....Delco-Remy, Klaxon, North East, Delco-Lovejoy, AC. frank
  13. More Plymouth info. Taylormade, looks like you may have a wider parts base. Good luck. frank
  14. This is from Plymouth Master Parts List issued April1, 1934. I hope it helps. Taylormade, you will get this figured out. Great work you're doing .
  15. The Filling Station is mostly Chevy, but they may have something that could work. https://fillingstation.com/catalog/flippingbook/index.html#6/z
  16. May not be germane to original post, but if I can identify it and need it, don't care what the seller calls it. Look at a lot of parts that don't come close to my '29 Plymouth, but what the hey.
  17. Hi Mcgoo. I believe the 30U designation was Plymouth only. keiser31 could probably answer your question. He has an incredible amount of knowledge. frank
  18. Excellent news of your health. Good luck with your move.
  19. I agree. Upper panel is '28Q and/or '29U and next panel is '30U. Both appear to have additional small holes that weren't stock.
