  1. BMW inspired motorcycles with WW2 heritage. This version is not stellar for speed or reliability. Ural brand is somewhat better but still not in the class of today’s motorcycles. Terry
  2. Would this book be of help? It covers hydra-matics from 1946 to 1956. Written for repair garage use.
  3. Try Roberts Motor Parts in West Newberry MA. Robertsmotorparts.com
  4. Maybe a truck given the size and mounting fasteners?
  5. I’m going to stick my neck out here and say I like your car. I may be subject to the wrath of the Gods of Originality for saying that but I does seem to be a neat example of a four door car that got some extra style to it. My only nit pick is the wheels, they just don’t work for me in that red color. It’s a bit like trying to tell your GF or wife that her new shoes don’t go well with the rest of her outfit. You like them so that’s fine and all that counts until you decide to sell. Hopefully you still have the original wheels should the next buyer want to try some other wheel scheme. Good luck with the sale! Terry
  6. Everyone knows people who own old cars are filthy rich so taking some of their money won’t hurt them a bit?. For me it was the beneficiary of the show that made the choice easier. I agree charging the public seems correct to some degree for most charity shows. Perhaps they hope the free admission will allow those attending to buy other items like food or drink that has a higher profit margin and will help the overall fundraising effort.
  7. Thanks for posting the “fine print” Mike!
  8. Many auctions take pre bidding to establish a starting value for the item before the actual event. I suspect the car will go for a lot more money on sale day.
  9. Nice to know someone’s getting work done while the rest bang away on our keyboards ?. Great job!
  10. Good McGiver attempts. When I would take out my 37 Dodge with a trunk full of spare parts my wife would question my claims of its road worthy ness. Never hurts to be prepared!
  11. The modifications are going to greatly devalue the car compared to the same car in all original condition.
  12. Absolutely a wonderful acquisition! I am delighted to see it and hear about its existence. With more attention being given to EV development it’s great to see what the early auto pioneers did to make their mark on the auto industry.
  13. That’s great information, I never heard of Columbus electric cars!
  14. That styling is definitely in a class of its own! Neat car, hope it finds a good home.
  15. As a former Motorcycle owner and racer, I would recommend inspecting the chain drive for proper adjustments and lube. A poorly adjusted / lubed chain can rob power. When you don’t have a lot of power to spare every little adjustment helps!
  16. Sure is great reading. A far cry from today’s EV offering.
  17. Much better, thank you Mike! The 200% overload rating is interesting, that would allow for more battery power to be applied to the motor to boost its performance. Terry
  18. I can’t read the document too well but 32 amps must be a misprint. The car would probably need around for 100 amps or more to operate.
  19. Did he miss one? I don’t believe it!
  20. Those wheel covers have to go! What a land yacht.
  21. The old style turn signal flasher relies on the current drawn by the incandescent bulbs to operate properly. The low current draw of led bulbs usually requires a new flasher that can be manually adjusted to work with the draw of the led bulbs.
