  2. Looks like a nice turn out. We had planed to be there and the BCA Nationals, but health issue put a damper to both. Thank you for taking time to post the pictures. Loren
  3. The company I worked with to remanufacture the dash pads for '65 Skylarks is in need of cores. Dash pad manufacturer looking to buy dash pad cores for '65 Skylark . 4. I ordered one of the dash pads from OPGI on February 14, 2018. Haven't received it yet and now been told possible delivery of mid July. They didn't wait to get payment though. Loren
  5. Roberta, What condition are you looking for ? I should have some around here. If not, I have a friend out on the east coast that wanted to donate some to 65GS.com to sell as donation funds to the site. Loren
  6. According to the '65 FSM, 10 - 13 foot pounds for the ST 400 . Loren
  7. Pete, You are correct in that the aluminum covers were not a '63 item. They were '64 to '66.with small differences year to year. The pictured cover is a '66. The '66 covers had the indent in the driver side cover . This was necessary for an air pump application. The Tri-shield emblem looks to be an owner enhancement. Normally there would have been a solid rubber plug or an o ring for a breather that connected to the air cleaner. Loren
  8. Yes the one on the far right is an intake bolt. It goes in the front passenger side and also holds the bracket for the heater control valve. Loren
  9. Link to their automobile silvering information. http://historicinteriors.com/mirror-resilvering/antique-auto-mirrors/ Loren
  10. Thank you John. I have also finished a dash pad project for '65 Skylarks. Now available are re-manufactured dash pads. The original metal base is re-used after being stripped down to bare metal. Then new foam is injection molded to the base and followed with the correct grain vinyl molded on. Beautiful product with high a quality fit . Loren

  12. Looking for a slip yoke used with the Dearborn 3 speed manual tranny that came in '65-'66 Skylark and GS. I think the same 3 speed was used in the Le Sabre, same years. This is 28 spline yoke Found one and have it on the way! Thanks , Loren
  13. Thought this may be handy information for reference. Loren
  14. Attached is a picture taken of a page in my Buick parts book . This Buick parts book covers '40-'70 model years. It shows the two different P/N for the 5.5" and the 6.0" width wheel. There is no listing for either part number usage after '64 . Loren
  15. The lower bearing clamp is out in the engine bay. If you have someone that can push on the steering wheel . Loosen the clamp an slide it up and tighten the bolt. There is a bearing that the clamp sits against. If you need to replace the bearing, it is available. Loren
  16. If I had the $$$ I would have considered it, but I don't and along with that, that's the easy way. I guess it's also the challenge of bringing a matching numbers, very loaded '63 Riviera back to it 's original beauty. I've already done multiple Senior Gold Skylarks and Gran Sports. The first Skylark I hammer welded and annealed the repair panels I fabricated . That was back in the 80's. Considering that car scored 400 out of 400, I didn't do too badly. The other two that we took to the same BCA Nationals earned 396 and 392 points. But thanks for asking anyways, Loren
  17. Thanks , I tried one place out in CA. That one wasn't much help though. Will keep looking. Thanks, Loren
  18. The little locking tabs are impossible to see in the plastic connector. You need to insert the tool and gently twist it back and forth . It does not take much to bend the tabs in enoughto allow the terminal to come out. I found that pushing on the wire while inserting the release tool helps. Then pull on the wire and the terminal should come out of the connector. Work with the old one and get a feel of how to release the terminals from the connector. Loren
  19. I have seen the star on '65 Skylark tags. Doesn't seem to be just for the Riviera. One of the Skylarks had the bucket seat option , probably means nothing regards to the star. Just an unusual combination. Loren
  20. Specifications for the 1181. Specs Operating Voltage: 8 to 16 volt DC Temperature Range: -50°F to 300°F RPM Range: 0 to 15,000 RPM For use with 12 volt negative ground systems Loren
  21. Once you have pulled the new harness through and installed the switch , the last thing is to put the terminals back in connector. Remember to bent the lock tabs of the terminals out slightly, before inserting them in the plastic connector. I hope I have made this clear enough . Loren
  22. A couple more pictures to give you an idea of what I am trying to explain. I tape the terminals to keep them from catching something as you pull the new switch harness back down . Notice that the pull wire is taped in, then bent over and taped over so it won't catch on anything when you pull it through the column.
