  1. You're welcome.Just hoped to get more photos, but the rain was a problem.
  2. Had a great time at the AACA Eastern National Meet in Saratoga. Got home Yesterday afternoon (Sunday June 23) The 560SL surprised me winning a First Place Jr. Award. 😎 There was a lot of rain on show day, but a good amount of great cars came out. The rest of the week was very hot, but the Boat Tour and other events went very well. Want to say a big Thank you to all involved, The Saratoga region, the Judges, all the volunteers and the participants. Due to the rain I did not get a chance to take many photos before the early end of the Meet.

  4. Terry It was a pleasure to meet you. I agree totaly with what you said. The tour was wonderful and we had a great time. Your MG looked wonderful and seemed to run wonderfully. So glad we went. The people made it all worthwhile. The places we visited and the roads we drove on were well worth the trip. Our 560SL drove like a champ on its first tour. Hope you don't mind me posting a few photos I took. Look forward to seeing you again in Saratoga.
  5. Just got home yesterday from the AACA Regional Tour in Fredericksburg, Va. We had a great time. Ended up taking the 560SL after we noticed a broken rear brake line on the Buick we planned on taking the morning we were going to load it on the trailer. The car ran very well. Put over 400 miles on it. Towed it there from NY as the truck and trailer were already loaded and ready to go. The Tour was great as were the people, places and roads we visited and drove on. Looking forward to the Saratoga Meet. Will be the first time showing this car. Just need to clean it up and will be on the road again Wednesday.
  6. Heading to the Lane Museum Monday. Will be getting a curated tour by Jeff Lane and a trip to the basement to see the some of the hidden Jems. Looking forward to it.
  7. Thank you! Wonderful photos of wonderful cars. 😎
  8. Took our 1988 560SL out for our year round Sunday drive with friends. We have been doing this drive every Sunday since Covid Started. Was and is a good way to get out and see friends.
  9. Took the 560SL out again last Sunday for our regular Sunday drive with friends. If everything goes according to plans we are registered and have hotel reservations to have it at the Eastern Springs National in Saratoga, NY, and then the Fall National in Hampton, Va. The Saratoga Springs National will be it's first ever time at a AACA event.

  11. I got the RM discount for Friday night, Frank. I always try to make it to the Awards dinner. Will drive home Saturday morning.
  12. Got Friday night at the RM rate. Looking forward to the Awards dinner as a nice finish to the week.
  13. Hi @chas1963. Sent the registration in a couple of weeks ago, Hope you recieved it. Hotel booked also. Looking forward to it. If I decide to bring a Buick instead of the Mercedes I hope that would be ok? Mercedes 560SL is entered for the Spring Saratoga Meet the next week. Have to decide which I want to tow back and forth, then drive it on the tour. Did not realize it's that close, Saratoga will be the 560's first Meet.
  14. I grew up in Flatbush Brooklyn. Never heard of that dealership. Very cool to see the emblem. Thank you.
  15. It is now mandatory to have tire chocks at the Hilton Head Concours. Learned about that last year before the Concours.
  16. Keeping an eye on this post. Should be heading to New Mexico next month. I know we will be hitting up the Georgia O'Keefe Museum as my wife is a big fan. We also will be doing basically all the Cities you will be going to. Too bad the Unsers sold their Museum and it has moved out of New Mexico.
  17. My wife wants me to take her to New Mexico in April to travel around and see the sights. Any suggestions? She is a big Georgia O'Keefe fan so i know we will go see her stuff. Too bad the Unser Museum closed down and moved.
  18. I have taken a "mostly all original car" or shall we say unrestored car all the way through the Awards process to a Senior Grand National Award and plan to try again with a new to me car this year. I have never received a complaint from a Judge that it is not restored. If it is good enough for the Award it is going for it will receive it. If the car is good enough that is all that matters. I look forward to trying it again. I now have a fully restored car and a mostly original unrestored car with Senior Grand National Awards. The mostly original car has always exceeded my expectations and it has sometimes been more satisfying than getting the restored car to the same Award level. If the new one does not make it to that same level I am good with that. You can always change class, then go for HPOF if not happy with the level it ends up at. Section 1D of past and the current Judges Guidelines say : Original vehicles not entered in the Historical Preservation of Original Features (HPOF) class or the Driver Participation Class (DPC) will be point judged in the same manner as restored vehicles.
  19. Thanks for all the help Pete and Scott. Registered and reservations made. If you guy can just confirm when you receive the documents we are all good. Of course with all the back and forth I forgot the self addressed envelope. LOL
  20. Booked at the Hershey Lodge. Cheaper than the Tru Hotel I had booked through Hilton Honors and also cheaper than where we were last year at the Hampton. Thanks for the tip in the Speedster. Got right through to reservations and had no problems making the reservation.

  22. Hi I made a mistake on my registration. Thought I had fridays tour in the registration and ended up with 3 indoor parking for Friday. Pressed check out by accident. Do I have to call the National office to clear this to make the needed changes? I knew I messed up once I printed and saw the registration. Senior moment for me. LOL Thanks I just sent the emails. I really appreciate your quick response and help. Look forward to meeting you and Pete at the Meet.
