I am looking forward to seeing the cars Saturday morning at Rocky Point. Reservations have been made to get into the park with my car as the Audrain Museum is hosting the Cars and Coffee portion. Coming up from NY. (Modern Car my AMG) Will also be doing the Park and Picnic in the evening also hosted by the Audrain Museum at Fort Adams in Newport. Will be nice to meet some of the forum people I read posts from, and to see a few friends who are entrants in the race. Making this a nice fathers day weekend with the wife to do this. (Friday to Sunday) See you there.

2022 Grand National Trailer Parking
philip roitman replied to Bill Treadwell's topic in AACA - Shows and Tours
Bill, thank you very much for the help. Your team was the first contact most all of us had with trailers. They were outstanding. Taking a few minutes to go for a ride personally with me to help me get a visual for getting everything planned out was a huge help. It all worked out perfectly getting the car loaded, the trailer ready for the trip home and having it nearby the hotel on the show field after it cleared out. It helped a lot for packing up Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. I really appreciate it. -
Got your "Crankshaft" magazine yet?
philip roitman replied to f.f.jones's topic in General Discussion
Hey Richard, the Brooklyn and Bronx guys are coming out for you. 😎 We got your back. 😇 Marty, I grew up in East Flatbush by Meyer Levin J.H.S. & Tilden H.S right by Beverly and Clarendon Roads. Just a few blocks from Ralph Avenue. Late 50's - 1960's through the early 80's. I knew your area well. Had family by Empire on Kings Hwy and My dad had a Childrens clothing factory by Empire Blvd. -
Hi Marion, Thanks for the update. I left a phone message and also emailed our information as requested to Mr Treadwell. I see there are no plans for Wednesday arrivals. We will be arriving Wednesday as we are doing the Schaubach Car Collection Tour/Lunch on Thursday and the Ice cream Social also. I am assuming that we aren't the only ones showing up on Wednesday to do the Tour Thursday. I hope that we can be accomodated for trailer parking or I am assuming we can park at one of the Founders Inn parking lots If you can confirm this it would be great. We are also looking forward to hearing from Mr. Treadwell regarding this. Thanks, Phil R.

Classics on the Hudson returns
philip roitman replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Discussion
I will be there. Have been going for years. A friend of mine runs the show with other members of the Early Ford V8 CoA Hudson Valley Region. Great location. Ted Sweet. Pretty much any 25 years or older car is allowed. Stock, Modified, Hot Rod. Very Good show with a usually large turnout. Food Trucks, etc. -
Hemmings Auctions I decided to Try it
philip roitman replied to John348's topic in General Discussion
Talk about timing. I just received the email from Hemmings Auction with your car listed. I read the article closed my mail and came to the forum to see what's up. Lo and behold First thing I open is your post. It is indeed a small world. The ad is very well done. I really like the car. GLWTA. I will be watching. -
Both. I drive the Gold 4 speed Concours Senior GN car (no such thing as perfect even with this MCACN 1000 out of 1000 point car) occasionally to keep it mechanically sound. I drive/tour with the mostly all original Yellow Sun Coupe (MCACN 986 points out of 1000) GN & Concours winning car all the time. Cars need to be driven. Don't think I could collect cars without the pleasure of driving them. That is also the reason I have the fun modern cars to drive. Driving cars is my biggest pleasure in life besides my family.

Dragone's Iron Range meet / flea market
philip roitman replied to Flivverking's topic in General Discussion
Here you go from the Dragone FaceBook page. I have the pleasure of going to a monthly Supper Club/Car Club that George Dragone attends. Very nice guy. THE IRON RANGE SWAP MEET 2022!! Come and join us for our 3rd annual swap meet/car show with coffee, food, and friends on Sunday, June 12th! Last year was an amazing event with such a great turnout and we would like to do it again this year. Really like a mini old Hershey. Our 66,000 square foot showroom and restoration facility full of great cars, motorcycles, and more will be open for everyone to enjoy! We have a large property for parts and automobilia vendors and cars to gather and we will have food trucks on site to provide hot coffee and food and music from D.J. Seth Carley. We have a lot of vendors coming from all over with some great parts, automobilia, and possibly some cars to sell and everyone to enjoy! In fact, there is so much interest from last year and there are so many great people bringing some really great parts and automobilia that this swap meet is truly living up to its name as the "The Iron Range," a name reference that some may remember from car collecting history. We may even run a couple of our big brass cars including our 1906 120HP Locomobile 'Number 1" race car that came in 3rd at the 1908 Vanderbilt cup race and is the sister car to the famous "Old 16". Come and join us, get some driving time in your car, and enjoy some old cars, motorcycles, parts, and of course automobilia with friends just like the old days of car collecting. Contact Alex to RSVP if you have a trailer or just drive your car over. Brass cars to modern supercars are welcome! You will not want to miss this! We hope to see you! All interested venders must call Alex Dragone to explain what you are selling and to reserve a space. There is no charge for a space. Where: Dragone Classic Motorcars 5 Connair Road, Orange, CT 06477 When: Sunday June 12th, 2022 7am-3pm -

Thank you. Nice video, Steve. The 1973 GM A body Colonnade intermediates were fast and much better drivers than the cars they replaced. Of course I am partial to the Buick Century Stage1 Gran Sports. 😎 The only thing faster was a SD455 and only by .1 in the 1/4 mile and less after that. The Buicks were the fastest A bodies and IMHO the best styled Colonnades available. HP was exactly the same as 1972. These are my two 1973 Stage1 Gran Sports some of you may like. Harvest Gold 4 speed and my mostly all original Yellow Zone office ordered SCO paint "Sun Coupe" Body #000092.

Every year I go to Bowling Green, Kentucky for the Buick GSCA Nationals. We always go to the Corvette factory and do their tour. We saw the last few generations being built. One year we were there for the first week of convertible construction of the previous generation. Missed going last year so looking forward to seeing the new Corvettes being built this year. Maybe we will even see a few Z06's being built. Always a fun tour along with going to the Corvette Museum. We also got a chance to see customer delivery if we time it right. I highly recommend going if anyone is ever in the Bowling Green area. Just an hour away from Nashville also.

Haven't received mine in NYC Suburbs. Spoke to Richard and he told me if it dosn't come in a day or two to let him know and he will send another. I wrote him again last night to update him that it still did not arrive. Waiting for an answer. The magazine is so good that I am getting impatient to receive it. Seems like from recent experience USPS is is not as good as they used to be. P.S. Listening to Richard and our own Tom Cox as I write this on their new Saturday morning radio show.

1973 Four Speed 454 Laguna SS just sold for $50,000 not including Fee at Mecum Kissemee. A 1973 Stage1 4 speed sold for $52,000 a few years ago after being offered to me for $35,000. ( I had 6 at that time, now down to the 3 best) My rust bucket/bondo queen but nicely painted/good driver sold at Indy Mecum it is a 73 Stage1 4 speed for $32,000 two years ago and the driver knew all the issues with the car Non Matching #'s Rust/bondo Tarred Chassis and trunk, etc, etc. He loves the car. The colonnade cars as they are named are going up in value. 1973 Stage1 four speed Stage1's only 92 built and less than 10 known to exist. Last year for four speed production. 1973 Colonnades all GM makes Auto or manual trans are very rare these days.

Try Racing Beat in California. They have been doing Mazda performance parts for years. Very good quality and fair prices. All the Mazda Rotary engine racers use them.

Thanks Marion, I have been looking forward to this since you and Mark first told me of your plans for this over a year, maybe 2 years ago. I made my reservation at The Founders Inn. 😉 Again, thanks to you, Mark and your AACA TR Region for doing this event. I am sure it will be a great show with good friends and that is what it is all about. Phil

First car with a manual trans I learned to drive was a Tan color 1966 Tempest convertible with a 326 V8 with bucket seats and a 3 speed on the floor. I was 13 years old. Thought this photo was good for this thread just to show that manual trans has become a great anti theft device.

Yes, this car has been discussed on the V*8 Board. Nice car needing a lot of work. It does deserve a good home and someone who will do it justice. I sold 3 1973 Stage1's including a Stage1 4 speed in the last few years out of the 6 I had at one point and kept the best three I had left. Was time to change things up and buy some different cars. Thanks John S. for thinking of me and messaging me.
