  1. Welcome! That picture does not look "right", me thinks. Trim on the fender is 1952, all series. Fender, with welting is , if a 1952, A Super or Roadmaster. Trunk lid is a mystery? Ben
  2. A leaky gas tank. That engine is a fuel miser. I don't see how it could run using that much gas. Ben
  3. NO. Numbers do not match in those years for Buick. Welcome to BUICK LAND. Ben
  4. They are still available. Saw a bucket full of them at the Decatur swap meet yesterday. Ben
  5. John, in my 87 years DST has certainly not stunted my growth nor cost me anything.😆 Ben
  6. LOL! So much for the oft quoted " the engineers knew what they were doing" I guess. By 1950, the two were so close fit it is a CHORE to separate them. THEN they are pinned. I liked to have never got mine apart when I changed gears for a better ratio. then I had to put them back together! Ben
  7. Switches come in all flavors! A push button starter switch just completes a circuit. A "hot" wire, probably from the "on" side of the ignition switch, goes to one side. Either side. The wire from the other side of the push button switch goes to the starter solenoid. This is the way it is wired on GM cars and should be on yours. Ben
  8. "Back in the day" [ hate that phrase] we just cleaned them up with fine crocus cloth. Never had to do one over. Ben
  9. Pete, maybe ask lower down in the Buick forums. Many of the Buick folks never come up here. Beginning in 1937 later engines could be retrofitted. I am not sure about 1936. Again ,not sure but there may be an adaptor to hook your transmission [ the 1936] to the 292 bell. Good luck Ben
  10. Agreed! Please don't stop. I envy and admire those that can do this. Heck, I can't find pictures [ files?] in my own computer most of the time. Carry on! Ben
  11. THEN it would look JUST like all the rest. I am not enamored with this car. As long as it is not touted as FACTORY I am ok with it. Ben
  12. That treatment worked on the Chrysler. Not so much here, I think. The reason not many [any ? ] around? Ben
  13. Buick must have made better wheels! All but one of mine came on the car in 1950! Radials since 2008. Almost 30,000 miles.😁 Ben
  14. NOW! Can we put something to rest? We see a lot of flack about bumper guards or "overrides" on these, and other forums. BUT! The folks in that time period liked them enough they were on these NEW cars we suppose were direct from the factory! One of the reasons was for pushing friends and neighbors cars that , for some reason, had dead batteries. I don't know why the batteries of that time went dead SO OFTEN. Since SIX VOLT was/is SO good.😉. My opinion and I am sticking to it! Ben
