  3. 180*. For the price, I find them not too bad. Not the best. They have stuff others do not. Gets the job done. Ben
  4. THANKYOU, JACK. His property, his chosen "hobby" with his money!! What's not to LIKE? More of us should be that way, me thinks. Ben
  5. Ambitious project. Take a couple of days? Good luck. Ben
  6. As Anthony over on the H.A.M.B. says, I'd drive it. Ben
  7. I like a man that is proud of his woman. Always preferred not to brag, though. Now, the car is fair game. Ben
  8. The original, I believe, had a rubber grommet the cable ran through . Seldom , maybe never, replaced. I used a short length of heater hose to replace same. Ben
  9. Boots look GOOD. I hate breaking in new shoes. Yeah, I know about the "kids" thing. Raised a houseful and only one lives close enough to help. She is too sick too! But, Bernie , we have lived long enough to say " but I didn't die young" as the song goes. Cheers Ben
  10. Your goal is simply to see if the gauge works? I would set a battery on my work bench. Two "jumpers, with alligator clips if available, wire with bare ends if not. ANYTHING to create a draw. Motor, fan [motor], head lamp, or other lamp with enough "draw" to read. Connect a jumper to each battery post. Connect either one to one post on the gauge. Connect one jumper to the other post on the gauge, connect the other end of THIS jumper to the head lamp. Connect the jumper from the other battery post to the other terminal on the Lamp [ motor],. Gauge will show either a draw or charge, Switch leads at the battery to check for opposite reading. I THINK. As old-tank says, check back. Ben
  11. Probably! Too danged old and fat to change?😆. Ben
  12. Sure was!! Did not even realize I was doing so!😁 Ben
  13. In 70 years of driving, I have never torqued a wheel lug! Wow, look at ALL those times I was in danger.😉 Ben
  14. 😄. No, no. That WOULD have been something. I was inspired by the picture Crusty Trucker posted. We were crowed, though. The last such, I was 15 and Carl, the 7th was an infant. Smaller ones on somebody's lap! Ben
  15. I agree, Bob. Not as many "converted" as you. Actually, only one. 12+ years and 25,000+miles. BUT everything I have owned as a "daily" since the ' 71 Buick wagon in 1980 has been ELECTRONIC. Never a problem. Not sure if 1971 came electronic but the one I owned had electronic when I bought it. Ben
