  1. I got a call yesterday and was told that I have received an award and that a letter with a registration form for the National Meet was in the mail.
  2. For SUV's my favorites are the Chevy Subdivision and the Ford Expanse. The Ford Pinto had an unenviable moniker of the Ford Flambé. My father bought a 1962 white Imperial that got the names from my high school classmates of the White Whale or Morbid Dick.
  3. I got my by email yesterday, filled it out and sent it in. I got an auto-reply as they are working from home now. Be safe and stay healthy.
  4. Just so you don't feel left out, I haven't received mine either.
  5. The logos are available now at http://www.aaca.org/region-awards.html Any idea why the Webmaster logos have that pinkish blur behind the date? It's easy to remove, but it shouldn't be there.
  6. I google searched this and found it to be a 1941 FORD “SUPER DELUXE” CONVERTIBLE # 6290272. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=1941+FORD+“SUPER+DELUXE”+CONVERTIBLE+%23+6290272
  7. The deadline for registering for the Winter National Meet in Miami has been extended to February 10th. The brochure, schedule, hotels, activities and more can be found on the South Florida Region’s website National Meet page.
  8. Winter Nationals Meet February 27-29, 2020 in Miami, FL Registration deadline is February 1st. We are looking forward to a great show here in Miami. I hope you will all come down and enjoy our great weather and hospitality. The brochure, schedule, hotels, activities and more can be found on the South Florida Region’s website National Meet page.

  10. An Albert Einstein quote that fits this situation - " Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe."
  11. Definitely keep it. Enjoy driving it and showing it a local shows. I wouldn't do any restoration other than what has been suggested for safety and comfort sake. It could be entered in an AACA National show as is in either HPOF or Driver Participation classes. Enjoy.
  12. This does sound like a great idea. I would like to use them on our website.
  13. It would have been more of a shame if it was restored instead of highly modified. Still I'm glad everyone lived too.
  14. In fact, hazard lights worsen the danger of driving in a downpour. Driving with your hazard lights on is also illiegal in Florida — and in most states —punishable by a $129 fine. The only time you can use them when in motion is if the vehicle is in a funeral procession.
  15. I use Mihov Image Resizer. It is free to download, although they do ask for a donation. I take large file size photos for print in our newsletter and then use Mihov Image Resizer to reduce an entire show’s worth of photos – sometimes 100 or more in seconds, for posting on our website. This is so they will load faster. It reduces the size and renames each photo with “mini” in front of the file name so that you don’t lose the original. Here is the link for downloading: https://www.mihov.com/sw/en/ir.php
  16. I also use adblocker - https://adblockplus.org/ - and I have never seen a pop-ad on the forum. I use Firefox as my browser. I just tried it with the Microsoft Edge browser which I don't have adblocker on and there were ads. I keep Microsoft Edge without adblocker so that I can read articles on some newspaper sites that require you to turn off adblocker to be able to read them.
  17. Although these are posted on our club's website most of them have also appeared in our newsletter. I'm not sure this will help as we, the newsletter editor or myself, don't ask any questions. We just let them tell us whatever they want to say about their car. Here are some examples - Car Stories - https://aacasouthflorida.club/members-cars-2/car-stories/ Bob Webmaster https://aacasouthflorida.club/
  18. The South Florida Region’s annual show on Biltmore Way in Coral Gables, FL used to have a DJ. Then the city decided that the volume had to be below as certain decibel level 100 feet from the speakers. That was fine until we learned we had to pay two city employees to come out and measure the volume and pay a fine if it was too loud. Needless to say we haven’t had music at that show for the last three years and no one seems miss it. It makes for a much more pleasant day for talking with friends and spectators without the background noise.
  19. The 2018 logos have been posted. http://www.aaca.org/region-awards.html South Florida Region https://aacasouthflorida.club/
  20. Nothing yet. I don't think they start judging until May so there is still time for them to send it. Bob Webmaster South Florida Region https://aacasouthflorida.club/
  21. Thank you for posting this information. I have some people who need to be congratulated.
  22. Here are a couple from the Boca Raton Concurs d'Elegance.
  23. Love the photos and thank you for identifying them. I've never seen some of them. The Corvette is a 1964.
  24. It would be a steal if it were a real 1929 Mercedes SSK. I am not sure what a replica is worth.
