I guess the turbo screaming kind of makes up for the lack of dddddd sound of years gone by... My father also has "Packard" on his Packard, "Cadillac" on his Cadillac, "Lincoln" on his Lincoln, "5" on his '05 REO, "6" on his '66 Mercedes, "8" on his other Packard, "9" on another Cadillac, and 10 on yet a third Cadillac.When I lived in Atlanta, being a baseball fan and a Hank Aaron fan, I had "44" on my daily driver and "15" on my Datsun Z. For my wife's daily driver, I put on "22" (She's very young at heart, and young looking as well). She was embarrassed with it, so I took it off. I run the same risk on one of my cars, too. It's cheaper for me to pay 3 $100 tickets annually for driving on an expired plate than it is to renew the plate on my BMW 750il. Even if you've paid a ticket, a few years later, you may be billed again for the same ticket. Unless you've saved your receipt or check, you have no way of proving you paid it and they'll get you again. Save all your information on paid tickets. This was a common scam for Philly to send tickets to residents in the Pittsburgh area. My wife demanded to know when I was in Philadelphia. I said I wasn't. She said "Why would they send you a ticket if you weren't there?". I looked at the ticket a little closer. It was issued to my mom's NC antique auto license plate number. But the ticket stated it was a Jeep and the ticket was issued something like 3 or 4 years before. Well mom didn't have her car (a Dodge)at that time, much less having that tag number. My parents got a letter from the NCDMV and sent it to Atlanta, and it stated that they didn't have that tag number when the ticket was issued. She was found to be at fault and was supposed to lose her license for sixty days. She never received a notice, so she kept driving. She drove for three years with a clean record. Her record prior to the accident was clean also. Then she gets a notice to surrender her license for sixty days. I had her to send them a letter and ask them to consider her current clean driving record, the fact that she had a son in school now that she had to tranport (too young to walk alone and not far enough away to ride a bus) and that she had finally gotten a good paying job. Only the standard state labeling and graphics at top and bottom or background. I tried to get such a plate a few years ago when i had some "inside tracks" but the state of TN has a 3 character minimum and the the request was caught at the county level and it was about 3 feet from my hand when the county clerk discovered it and refused to issue it to me.
