Maybe British???

This car is probably small enough to fit in the back of a truck and It has a hand crank to start it. That’s pretty much all I can say about it. I couldn’t find any tags, names or symbols. Is it something worth going back to try and get it out of the woods and restore? I’ve posted on several groups and asked everyone I know and nobody knows what it is

Maybe British???

Citroen Avants were made in Britain, but in right hand drive.

Could never be "restored" but the engine and its front wheel drive~transmission probably worth a little more than its scrap value.  But would be few buyers.

As above suspect it is a 4 door saloon.  Hard to tell for your remains, but was also made in 2 door convertible style

An interesting note to me from a friend in OZ

Hi Hans

It is a 11BL Citroen from the 1949-52? period . A French made version.   Commonly known as the Light 15 . There was also a 6 cylinder model called the Big 6 .     (  not the English version which had a wooden dash panel and assembled in Slough England from CKD parts with some English content such as Lucas electrics , Rubery Owen wheels etc. and leather trim instead of cloth.  )

Regards

Brian

so do y’all think it’s worth trying to get it out of the woods or does it look to far gone?

That's an aweful lot of effort for very little reward (if any). I would leave her where she's resting.

I'd probably try to get some nice filtered shots of it then photoshop the background to a European farm setting just in case anyone is interested in that type of photography.

Look at post 2

Your car is cut/rusted in half and both side doors (4 off) and roof have gone or in the heap somewhere. Car has lost 3~4ft in length.

The 2 door Cabriolets (convertible) do not have same rear design-spare wheel position

Edit

These cars are front wheel drive with torsion bar suspension.  Do not have a chassis.

Production 1934-1956. Very advanced design for the time.
