I would prefer a velour interior.

I agree, Chris.  From what I've seen, though, leather

is much more common in Sevilles.

I find velour softer and more comfortable.

Best of all, while leather shows creases and cracks with wear,

those velour interiors can still look new after 100,000 miles.

For me, velour was the interior of the late 70 into the 80s to have.  IMO the most luxurious interiors GM offered.  Not to mention nice riding cars.

I've owned a bunch of these from 79 thru 83 and while the 80 and up car's looks stir opinions from many, the earlier cars have a more stately appearance in my opinion. The Custom Coach grille would have to go...fortunately, enough of these cars survive that parts cars are out there. The only downside from my experience is that the ECM (computer) used in them isn't very robust so keeping a spare handy is a good idea. The low miles and good price means is should sell soon. I like it!

Is this vehicle still available for sale.

We don't know.  This is the "Not MIne" section of the

forum, where car fans post links to interesting cars

which they have seen elsewhere.  We don't own them.

Thankfully, the telephone number from the original ad

is listed above.  You can call the seller directly.  All the

best to you in your search!

Pardon my lack of knowledge, but do these have the infamous 4.1L (4100) engine and the 8-6-4 cylinder configuration?

Thankfully, no.

The 1981 Cadillacs were the only ones with the V8-6-4,

and reportedly, that can be deactivated so that the car

runs only as a V8.  And the 4.1-liter engine, weak and

problematic, began with the 1982 Cadillacs.

So go ahead, Marty, and acquire a Seville like this if

you find one calling to you!

As others have noted, that aftermarket grille is hideous and actually commonly seen on 70’s and 80’s Cadillacs.  How is it affixed? Makes a difference in whether the original grille area is ok.

As John and others likely know, these were not “Chevrolet Novas on Steroids” as so many believe.   They were the most expensive Cadillac when debuted in 1976-1979.

I always thought these would make good 2nd through 4th cars for those who collect more than one car.

350 V8 through 1979, sourced from Oldsmobile.  Not sure about 1980.  1981 was 368 cid V8, the last of the era Cadillac V8s.  (1968 to 1981).

The 1980 Cadillacs, including the Seville, had the

368 V8.   That year was the first for the bustle-back

Seville styling.

As you noted, Jake, 1981 also used the 368 engine,

but it used the variable-displacement V8-6-4 feature

(which can be deactivated for today's collectors).

Thanks John, I was not sure if the 368 was a one year motor or not.  It is my understanding, which don't go to the bank on, that this engine family started as a 472, perhaps the 1967 429 but I am not sure, either way - 472-500-425-368 all the same block and a well engineered one.  I have owned this as a 472 and a 500.
