Sal Hepatica
50 years storage...is that "The Big Sleep"?... if you get the (close) reference. Black plates, though the color and condition are a bit "hazy"😏. Looks like a stillborn repaint started when Nixon was in office. Made it to primer. I'd rather start with this than that candy apple '39, but you'd need to get it for a song, and a short one. Preferably a gift. Plus unlimited time just to make it a runner.
supercub
I think all of those vehicles were stored inside for 50 years- sure! The model itself is is a real neat car.
Xander Wildeisen
Most projects are list in this price range. Just the going rate anymore. It is when they are missing a bunch of parts. They can become very expensive to complete. I have always found the love it or leave statement very strange.

Xander Wildeisen
Found mine for about half that price. In very good condition (needing everything) pretty complete, not messed with. Setting since 1954. A few built holes, great car to start with. The disassembly will start to tell it’s secrets. Gearheadengineer
Ad now says “SOLD.” Good styling, needs everything. I wouldn’t have paid the asking price, but apparently somebody stepped up. I expect to see it for sale in about 8 years, but in pieces and advertised as “easy winter project.” 2
kbeach
Check Craigslist in a few months. My bet is we will see all the running gear for sale.

And regarding Sold, AS PT Barnum was alleged to have said, one born every minute. Xander Wildeisen
A lot of this car stuff has become difficult to find, if you set out to find year, make and model. If you are looking for a 33 Nash coupe. It does become very hard to find a complete example, especially in a project car. Just like water out west, this stuff is drying up. I am always looking for a 52 Hornet club coupe. A lot of 53’s and 51’s. I doubt this 36 Plymouth was an impulse buy. Probably a buyer hunting for one. Finding complete projects is a must. supercub
Chances are a $4,000 pile of cash and a trailer ready to haul it took it away.
Rivguy
Probably. Progressive Insurance commercials tell you to pay only for what you need. I say, offer only what you want to pay! Edited July 29, 2022 by Rivguy (see edit history)
