Joe Cocuzza
Nice car. Not much to knock. But, just like the Chrysler Products of this time period, especially 4-door sedans, they just don't command a ton of interest or $$$$$. IMO
avgwarhawk
Very nice vehicle. The instrument cluster looks great. I like the design.
Rivguy
I've had a '56 and a '57 Cadillac. These Packards are more than competitive and better styled. The question has many answers, but how could Packard fail building cars like this?
John_S_in_Penna
14 minutes ago, Rivguy said: ...how could Packard fail building cars like this? According to Consumer Reports' annual auto issue, Packard's reliability was not up to par. Such statements about various makes and models were based on surveyed results from tens of thousands of readers. Would people flock to buy a car that wasn't as reliable? All other things being equal, no. Would its trade-in value, accordingly, be high? No. Cadillac, on the other hand, was rated very highly at that time: It was the most reliable car on the market, it was economical for its size, and it had very high trade-in value. There were other reasons for Packard's trouble, but if it had been well priced, beautifully styled, and extremely reliable, the word would get around and its sales would go up, not down.

kingrudy
There have been some beautiful '55 & '56 Packards listed on the forum with very becoming colors, inside and out. Nice looking interior, but the exterior is boring IMHO.

deac
This Packard looks very nice but there's no market for these. Some could build a Packard collection rather inexpensively! However some pre war Packard's are pretty pricey
Dosmo
I love Packards all the way up through 1954 - and, I don't hate the 55s/56s, but I just find their styling to be unappealing. This car looks great inside - beautiful dash, appointments, nice plush upholstery, etc. I'm just not a fan of the look of these cars, be it a convertible, hardtop or sedan. I don't know if it's that the cars look too tall to me, or if there is something about the styling front and rear. Quirky-looking cars appeal to me. I even like the styling of the '52-'57 Nash & Hudson. And the '56-'58 Studebaker is one that I can get on board with. But this series of Packard? It ain't quirky enough. I wish it was just a little more weird/out there. Apologies in advance to owners and fans of these models. 69merc
I thought these cars were pretty collectible? Sad to see them ignored. I bet it would be a hit at local cruise ins. It might be one of those cars you have to see. GLWTS!
Jim Skelly
Any car from this era that is reasonably priced and in nice condition will find a buyer. Look at the 1950 Pontiac two-door sedan that was posted on this forum. This is a good car for someone who wants to get into the hobby or to participate in an occasional car show.
