Dosmo
Just seeing what can be seen from photos, this looks like it might be priced accordingly to its condition. I like what I see from the pics.
alsancle
I looked at the pictures before I saw the price and thought to myself "$5,500". Not kidding. I agree that is the right ballpark.

I am not too fussy on cosmetics as long as the fundamentals are sturdy and it runs and drives well. I enjoy a nicely finished car but those type of issues can be worked on as time and money allow. And also everything depends on the final price.
Sal Hepatica
I'm in the KFOCI; Kaiser's don't typically bring big money, with a few (Darrin) exceptions. On a par with- or even below- contemporary Mopar flathead six sedans.
60s GM Fan
If there's any interest I'm literally 5 minutes away from this area... I'd be happy to take a look.

Yes, and I don't know if you are a long time member, but the long timers bought these KF's in the 60's and 70's for $100 and they think every sale now is too expensive if it goes over $500. Until they go to sell their maintained purchased-in-1969 KF and want $22,000. Strangest group I know of. Nice guys and gals all, but very cheap. There was a graveyard in Colorado with a lot of the rarest most interesting KF's and the guy can't give them away. Very few doing restorations. Been a few KFs on the forum here in the last 6 months so we have all become educated. This one would make a nice $3,000 car to add to a collection BUT not repaint. Can't repaint unless it's a labor of love and you do most of the prep work.
Hudsy Wudsy
I'm usually predisposed to orphans, but for some reason I've never been able to warm much to these. It's unfortunate that they were not able to make a go of it. We would have all benefited from the extra competition in the industry.
jimkf
I see a decent driver that just needs a good interior detailing and some incorrect items replaced. Someone mentioned a $3000 price point and I think that's not far off given that the seat, flooring and trunk material, while perfectly serviceable, isn't correct. Still, it's a desirable stick/overdrive car with no visible bad rust that one could take to a local cruise-in and let the crowd look at what would certainly be the only one in a sea of Camaros, Corvettes and Mustangs. I've owned several dozen Kaisers over the years and a 51 like this is the perfect entry level Kaiser. Parts are plentiful and inexpensive, there's plenty of support groups - especially on FB - and they're easy to work on compared to other contemporary marques.

It's probably not a car that warrants an expensive paint job. Do the prep yourself and drop it off at a budget paint shop. Or, leave as is and tell everybody you like the corrosion (oops, I meant patina). 1

JamesR
What a great affordable way for a young person on a budget to get into a unique old car from the 1950's. Or an older person. You could leave it as a "patina" wagon or give it spiffy new lacquer outfit.
