JamesR
These Lincolns sure seem like a good deal when compared to Cadillacs of the same vintage and condition.
B Jake Moran
They are. Arguably the 56-57 Lincolns are better proportioned than Exners Forward Look Imperials. I would have loved to tag team that recent 56 Lincn in Wisconsin with this car. A great 2 car collection Edited September 22, 2020 by B Jake Moran (see edit history)

John_S_in_Penna
From the pictures at least, this Lincoln looks like a nice car at a realistic price. A local club friend bought the same model (though a lesser Capri) a few years ago, for $20,000. It was in nice condition, maybe not quite as nice as this, for $20,000. I like those canted tailfins: Edited September 22, 2020 by John_S_in_Penna (see edit history)

suchan
Seat upholstery looks like it was installed wrong, upside-down, or....in any case, it looks strange. Nice car otherwise.

This is a good reminder to us all that seeing an ad deleted doesn't necessarily mean a car is sold. We don't know why he deleted the ad, but it means never give up hope! A car may still be available.

kingrudy
Curious strategy going on here, I have seen it before so there is more than one person out there with this thought process. The plan is keep raising the price of the car until it sells. Now I'm not saying this guy is all wet, maybe in these times with inflation is on everyone's mind that the seller is onto something. I just don't buy into it. IMO you can go too far with wide white wall tires and you end up with a clown car. He is really on the edge here.
Fossil
Reverse thinking. Lets say he starts at 16k then ups to 18k and finally 20k. A prospective buyer decides to try offering him his original asking price and the seller takes it. Now he's sold the car without loosing any money to lower offers on his first price. Seller and buyer are both happy. Hypothetical of course but I can see it happening.
TexRiv_63
Had not seen this before, from the few pictures it looks like a nice car. Sounds like he gave up trying to sell two years ago, fixed some problem areas (radiator, carb, brakes) plus new tires. He probably spent at least $2000 so he just marked up the price accordingly. On the other hand the buyer might believe that he should offer all cash at the 20k price before the value of the car hits 22k. No, just kidding most reasonable people will believe that the car is worth no more than 16k and you would be dealing with a fool here and a greedy one at that. If the seller cannot be straight forward and honest with the price, why should you trust him with the condition of the car? When dealing with this much money, I would rather deal with some one who is honest.
