1920's Wire Wheel

STAYGOLD

Recommended Posts

Pulled this out of the garage the other day - forgot I had it...

No idea what kind of vehicle this was originally used on, but would like to try and identify it.

It's a 20" split rim, 6-lug, but I don't know the bolt pattern measurement - my bolt pattern gauge doesn't have a reading for a 6-lug pattern like this.

It has an aluminum hubcap, not sure if it's original to the wheel or not, but it's badly damaged and not legible...looks like it might have had a logo or something stamped into it.

Any ideas?

Technically a two piece wheel, not a split rim.  A split rim would have a split completely across the rim and therefore would have to be a demountable rim.  A wheel, either steel disc, or wood or wire spokes has to be drop center, or two piece (the wheel itself and one side piece like this one) or a three piece with a side piece and a lock ring to hold the side piece on.
