Zimm63
I assume there is supposed to be a knob of some sort on the trip odometer reset? Mine is simply a splined shaft that is very difficult to turn with fingers only. As this is my fail safe for the gas gauge, it would be nice if it was easier to reset. Anybody know of a source? Thanks Zimm
RivNut
It should have a round plastic knob on the end of it. Find any knob that has a set screw in it that will fit over your shaft and you will be in good shape.
KongaMan
Isn't that a pliable, press-on knob? IIRC, Clark's (and maybe others) offer them.
RivNut
In Clark's Riviera catalog on page 19. You'll need to find out the price for yourself. http://www.corvair.com/user-cgi/catalog.cgi?show_page=R-
kegart
I used a rubber vacuum cap on mine. I know its not correct but it works.
Pat Curran
I have used a valve stem cap from a tire in the past. Visually you can’t tell the difference from the repros that are for sale.
1965rivgs
The knob was still listed in the "up to `76" GM parts book. I`ll bet it is still available from GM but even so, the aftermarket is most likely less expensive. As stated, the knob is very generic Tom Mooney
Loren@65GS.com
I see that the CARS description says '66 - '70. Looks like the one in the picture from Clarks Corvair , Inc. Loren
RivNut
If you're not worried about 400 point judging, a knob with a bigger circumference will be easier to grasp and turn. Google 'set screw knobs' and look at the images link for some ideas.

It is rubber, fits great and makes using the odometer reset very easy to use. Bill

I ordered just this knob and thought that they really wouldn't charge the just under $10 minimum shipping charge for such a small, light item. WRONG! So from now on I will find something else in their great catalogue that I can't live without when the urge comes over me again. Steve

Steve Steve, I believe the shipper should get something for shipping and handling. Also, I do not believe the shipper should not make the Shipping Dept. a profit center. Excessive shipping fees drive me away from such a supplier. Red Riviera Bob
