Pete Phillips
http://www.ebay.com/itm/351975792650?ul_noapp=true This is a rare stick shift '58 Buick. I had some interest in it so I contacted the seller. The seller insists this is the original engine (see engine photo) http://www.ebay.com/itm/351975792650?ul_noapp=true There is no way that is the original engine. I will bet a week's pay on that. The seller disputes my claim. Please tell me I am not crazy. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
Leif Holmberg
322 engine don`t fit on the gear box that have had a 364 engine.Different pattens. Leif in Sweden
1953mack
Don't bet him. Send your week's paycheck to me. The seller lists it as a 322 cubic inch engine (not the 364) that most probably indicates his 1958 Buick has the "Torque Master" engine model that was available from Buick and was also supplied for use in heavy-duty GMC/Chevrolet trucks during the 1956-1959 era...casting number 1169334. 60FlatTop
I bet that is the original engine, they just modified the cowl. It is the lengthened hood, hidden wiper version. Bernie
avgwarhawk
Does not look original to me. Looks like a Buick 350. The air filter housing has a EFE door on the snorkel. Also looks Buick red used on the 90 degree V8 of the 70's
buick man
…. well perhaps we can suggest that the O.P. here present to the seller of this 58, his extensive resume, in an attempt to convince the seller he must obviously know better …. avgwarhawk
Not to mention the alt looks like the design from the 70's. So does the bracket. The valve cover has a hose to the air filter housing indicative to having a PCV system.

Bernie is right!!!! HA HA HA the seller has uploaded the wrong engine bay photo. Still doesn't explain the listing of a 322. Did they use the 322 in a 58 Buick or only in the Chevy/GMC trucks...
