BatRestorer
Does anyone know what this square metallic thing is sitting on the dash of one of George Barris' exhibition Batmobiles. The photo is from 1967. Some kind of speaker but from what? Any help would be appreciated.

auburnseeker
Is that the bat ray projector or is the button underneath it the bat ray projector? That chrome speaker looks like a primitive hands free device for the bat phone to me.

mike6024
The top part of the steering wheel is cut out and the ends have the same type of rubber feet on them that the metal legs of my kitchen chairs have. Something like this- Edited August 27, 2016 by mike6024 (see edit history)

Looks like some things on the bat machine might have been last minute attachments, probably needed for one specific show so they grabbed some cheap thing and stuck it on for the episode. keiser31
Those look like old crutch rubber tips, to me. http://www.allglides.com/rubberfeet.html Edited August 27, 2016 by keiser31 (see edit history)
misterc9
How about that 58 Edsel steering wheel with the Edsel center emblem removed ?
31 HUPMOBILE
Isn't that also an Edsel speedometer to the left of the speaker?
jpage
Maybe it was used to relay directions or prompt lines during the action sequences!
BatRestorer
Yes that's an Edsel Steering wheel (with a section cut out) and an Edsel speedometer. So, that square thing is a Bat Ray Projector..oh I see. But are you sure? Lol
