I desperately need a starter and generator for my restored '26 dodge bros touring. This David Leslie of the UK emailed me, claims to have the parts and wants me to send money.

Only thing is, the parts are in Europe, I'm supposed to send euros to the USA to get them. Can't provide pictures of the parts or confirm with me he's a legitimate seller.

Can anyone confirm this for me?

Thanks in advance

Its a scam and every time I post a wanted add I get them,I was looking for a Ford Y block and someone in the UK said he had one and quoated me a real cheap price to ship and claiming Fed Ex would be the shipper. Keep on looking and do not send any money and someone on here should be able to find you one.

UK + no photos = SCAM.

ALWAYS ask for a certain view of the item you are interested in buying. If they cannot provide that view, move on because it is a scam. Most people can possibly provide a photo of an item by using someone else's photo, but if you ask for a specific part or view, that may provide proof that you are dealing with an honest person. NEVER, EVER send money for a part without seeing a good photo of that part.

I advertised looking for parts for my 26 Nash. I had 4 offers from Blackpool and one from London , all in the UK. Strange that so much was available in the UK for a rare american car. I asked for pictures, one replied that he could not send pictures but trust him, the others didn't reply. Scammers you betcha!!  keep looking.

Scam list:

1. somebody reaches out to you

2.  does not provide photos

3. you can't google their name and see lots of car related posts around various forums.

4. they have a low or zero post count on the forum you published on.

5. wants a money order or western union.

Thank you everyone for your input. I will ignore any new requests from him

Or you could mess with him a bit.

Tell him the money is on the way and he should go to his Western Union agent right away.

Good sport. I do it all the time, Waste their time and efforts. I do that to telephone solicitors as well.

Your original post made it sound like you did not have a starter or a generator for your car. The point is you don't need a starter and a generator. You need your starter and your generator to be rebuilt. You may find someone local who can do that, or you could contact any of the folks who specialize in that and advertise for that service in any of the hobby publications.

I think if you look at the signature line of the previous poster you may want to contact him.  I have copied and pasted his signature text here for you:
