Guest kaycee
' Just got my latest issue of Classic Car mag. and going through ( for the first time) all the pictures of beautiful Packards, I could'nt miss (I'll read it all tomorrow) the article (Specialist Profile, pages 74-77) and pictures of AACA's Steve Moskowitz including the head shaving to help the family of a young boy suffering cancer. Steve is obviously more than an excellent AACA executive director and experienced great old car buff, but a SUPER person. Living about 90 miles southwest of Chicago, I can relate to wintery ,cold weather especially this time of year so hopefully your hair has grown in Steve. Keep up the good work in and out of our old car hobby. A big well earned congradulations Steve!!! kaycee:)
MCHinson
I have not had a chance to read the whole article yet, should do that tomorrow morning, but it is nice to see a profile of Steve in there.... Now, if I can just finish all of those Packard articles, I can get to that one....
nearchoclatetown
Your handywork? Nope, some good looking chick is working him over. She didn't do a very good job on the top!
MCHinson
February 2010 (Issue #65) (just got it the other day) Packard Style is the headline on the cover. Over the title it specifies it as SPECIAL ALL-PACKARD COLLECTOR's ISSUE.
West Peterson
I doubt it will be on the newsstand. Usually doesn't hit for a couple of weeks after subscribers get theirs.

Paul Dobbin
Nice article about Steve with his history and some pictures of his cars.Classic Car is a Hemmings publication of high quality similar to our AACAAntique Automobile. Story is similar to the bio published when he became our Executive Director, but with more detail and fun pictures. He's a real car guy and long time restorer with a passion for Oldsmobile's.I salute Classic Car for the article and recommend the magazine. Marty Roth
Good article - gives the broader population more of an understanding of what a well-rounded guy our Steve is. For Steve, and so many others who help out quietly "behind the scenes" when their help is truly needed, we are all much better off.Steve, thanks for your help when I needed it. Steve Moskowitz
Thanks for the kind comments. There are a bunch of mistakes in the article (I never got to proofread) but any chance I get to talk about the club and hobby I jump at. Very kind of Hemmings to think my opinions matter much.I have had several offers of plastic surgery though after people have seen my picture! R W Burgess
Just had to find that magazine! We had to travel through 4 stores before finding the Classic Car magazine in a Barnes and Noble. It was almost as horrifying as having ones head shaved. :eek:Good article Steve, whether accurate or not!Wayne
Marty Roth
Can we get some donations to shave Wayne's head?? Some of us would kick-in a few bucks ! Maybe we could pay a few bucks to get the recipe Wayne used on the Vintage Tour with the Condensation Tube running down the side of his Essex -- was that for the Kikkapoo Joy Juice??Best for the Holidays,
R W Burgess
You flatter me Marty, if you think anyone would pay to see me shave off hair. They can wait a few more years and save the money....it's getting very thin and I haven't learned the comb over yet.:eek:Wayne
Steve Moskowitz
Well, the original tonsorial job was pathetically attempted by your buddy in Hummelstown who did not know how to use electric clippers, so Rachel jumped in to do something with the mess he started. We did have brakes on the Pirate and they worked! It was one of the most fun projects I have ever been involved with..

nearchoclatetown
Great advice, but your tonsorial abilities need to be refined. '37, I don't profess to know anything about tonsils. But if you read the original agreement, signed by SM and witnessed by the AACA office staff, if they obtained the $$ for the little guy SM agreed to have his head SHAVED. The girls did their job. Due to faulty equipment, provided by said SM of course, the job never was completed. I'm just saying it could/should be dun. I'm thinking there's a BBQ this weekend that would be a good chance for completion.
Steve Moskowitz
Once again, you have your facts incorrect. Said person had nothing to do with your faulty equipment, its' purchase and above all the lack of knowledge of the operator (forgot to lubricate the blades!). I was prepared to be bald not botched! Shop Rat
..... and above all the lack of knowledge of the operator (forgot to lubricate the blades!). OUCH!!!! That is one of the first lessons that I was taught when I was learning to body clip horses for shows. The blades must be properly lubricated as well as clean and sharp. Otherwise the blades heat up, start to drag and that will result in the hair being pulled rather than cut and the skin being burned.
nearchoclatetown
Pretty typical!! BTW, you mised a good BBQ, fun was had by all.
