  1. I once drove from Detroit to Orlando to take a pass on a vehicle that did not live up to the pictures. Stuff happens and 4 hours is a short drive across town.
  2. The one thing I like about these is that you would be unable to steal one and hide it. It truly has the meaning as big as a bus. Also I do not think you could stuff it into a container and ship it out of the county un noticed.

    What is it

Could you maybe post a picture of how it works?
  4. Ben, I am not sure that this will help, but on modern cars anything over .040" runout will cause a car to shake all over the place. (been there done that) At 3/8" (.375") I would wonder how you would keep the car on the road... IMO.
  5. Some of the numbers that I have seen here before are usually 10-20% of the price of an assembled vehicle. As usual, everything depends on condition and if everything is there which is a hard thing to determine when everything is in boxes.
  6. Brian, Call me and I can tell you where to store a trailer for real reasonable less than 5 miles from you. Also, might have a hub.
  7. By the way, the vin that you show does not have enough digits in it to be a genuine GM vin.
  8. Here is the link to the club Antique Truck Club of America, Vintage and Antique Truck Collectors Club, big rig collectors And the link to the pictures of the show. Antique Truck Club of America, Macungie PA truck show, pictures of antique and vintage trucks
  9. My 98 Astro van has HybroBoost and it still works fine after 240,000 miles.
  10. Roland, Been looking for a spare for about 10 years at Hershey and they are tough to come by as I have not seen one. Best opportunity would to borrow one and have it recast. I believe Dean Tyron has been doing this with the 6 cylinder cars.
  11. It there a reason for duct tape. I can remember seeing cars in Penn driving around with duct tape over rust and painted the color of the car. Will that pass inspection now?
  12. Could you put another picture of the bracket that has one hole in it to show how thick it is?
  13. If you can post some pictures, I might be able to tell you more as I worked in the cruise control area making transducers in the 70's at AC Sparkplug. Depending on the year, Oldsmobile used Perfect Circle cruise, not AC. The black switch at the top of the transducer had 4 terminal if it was a Buick and three if it was Chev or Pontiac. Diesel cruise control transducers had a blue color to the body. The biggest difference between the transducers was the orfice tube which the vacuum hose attached to at the top of the unit.
  14. Where are you located and what kind of vehicle are you talking about?
  15. How about a GM Futureliner? This would be the ultimate unable to not being noticed. Other GM Futurliners
  16. The front axle and radiator are different than the Lozier.
  17. Check out this place for car storage/ condo Land of 10,000 Stories: Twin Cities man creates a country club for cars | kare11.com
  18. Grant, AAAhhhhh, the Corvette. That is on my plate to finish up from the paint job last summer after this semester of classes. Only three weeks to go. The bride is anxious to have it completed so she and a girl friend can go joy riding. :-)
  19. The way pinstriping was done on the side of vehicles in the plant at least in the 80's because I watched them being applied was with a rubber wheel pinstriping tool like this. They put a guide on the side of the car and ran the tool with the rubber wheel and paint down the guide and it was done in about 5 seconds / side of vehicle. I am sure that this has been the method of choice anytime a pinstripe was applied to a vehicle. Beugler Pinstriper Tool for lining/pinstriping with paint Note that this tool is from the 30's. Here is a utube video on how to paint the lines on a wheel with a brush. I like the stool that he is using. You could use the same technique with the Beugler tool instead of a brush.
  20. Here is another modified Buick that was turned into a truck. Any good ideas of what year it is? Photo from Thriller from one of his excursions.
  21. I am a member of a group of about 8 of us that rent a large garage to store and can do work on our vehicles. (no painting, etc). All of us have known each other for some time and even though we can not vouch individually for everyone, each of us can vouch for at least 1/2 of the group so we are covered with some aquaintance. Everyone has signed the master lease for the space. So far no problems, but as ShopRat said, we have everything in writing including rules for the "club".
  22. Typical of the 20's. Do not believe it is a Buick.
