  1. My first car was a Buick. A 1983 Skylark Station wagon with the aluminum V-8 and every option available at the time. It was a former GM executive company car.
  2. At the time Buick had designated the top 60 Buick dealers as "Select 60" dealers. They made a number of special run vehicles for those dealers and only made 60 +- of those vehicles. Each vehicled was invoiced and sent to one of those dealers. Besides the Riverias there was also a Reatta. If my memory is correct, the Reattas were a pearl white convertible with red interior. I do not remember of the other cars built specially for those dealers.
  3. There were (maybe still are) available new memory calibration program read only memory (PROM) chips available that would minimize the converter lock up "chuggle"
  4. Belonged to the Engineers Club when we lived in Dayton. Cool place with some significant Wright brothers artifacts. The history just ooozes out of the walls.
  5. The headlights do not look like Buick
  6. And maybe a '71 Buick Skylark to the left
  7. Ditto on what Dave A said. Looked for over a year and ended up buying new. Considered every used trailer needed at least tires, brakes & lights which was usually true.
  8. If I remember, most GM cars of that era used the same sensor. I would probably look for a Cadillac to get one from.
  9. My wife's favorite saying when I go to pick up the car trailer for something is "You're not going to pick up another truck are you"
  10. I had a '92 Century that I finally sold with about 250,000 miles. Ran fine even then. Just wanted something different. The only things that I remember doing to it was maintenance items like brakes, tires, batteries, one wheel bearing 3 or 4 generators. Also replaced both front brake hoses because one was cracking and the other started to leak.
  11. Barr, Are the wheels still on the car and the car driveable? If so, just loosen up the nut on the axle just a little bit and then drive the car in a couple of "figure 8's" SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY. If you do this, most of the tiem the wheel will break loose from the axle and then be removed. Do not do any road driving after this exercise as you can damage the wheel and/or axle.
  12. Dave, I will bring my jar of grease cups out when I come to pick up the axle. Larry
  13. Mark, If you need one, I have an assortment.
  14. Look to the bottom of this thread and call George. His phone is included. http://forums.aaca.org/f165/rear-wheel-hub-1931-buick-model-236159.html
  15. I would frame it and keep it. I have an old savings bond that was given to me when I was born by my one Grandfather. It stopped earning interest years ago. I framed it and keep it in my office at home. Would not redeem for anything. Every time I look at it I think of the good times that we had together.
  16. Mark, Did you ever send me a pix?
  17. If the gage is full, then there is probably an open in the gage circuit. My first check would be the ground to be sure it is clean and good.
  18. Mark, Send me a PM with a pix and size you need. I will see what I have.
  19. They announced on the radio this morning that the Detroit area has had the 5th highest snow fall this winter. Can I get some "global warming" please.
