  1. If it is like most steering wheels that I know of, you will probably need to remove the spark and throttle lever. Underneath there will be a nut that will need to be removed. That will allow the steering wheel to be removed from the steering shaft. You will probably need to use a wheel puller to get the steering wheel from the shaft. Can not help on removing the spark/throttle levers as I am not familiar with that particular car.
  2. Here is a product made by Rustoleum that I am thinking of putting on the floor of both my trailers. Saw it at Home Depot and looks good. The Deck Restore is both non skid surface and appears to be protective of the wood. It also comes in lots of colors. Rust-Oleum Restore » Deck & Concrete Restore
  3. It is a puller of some type. I would guess bolts go in the recesses to attach to the item being pulled. I would agree with Fleek that it might be a steering wheel puller, but it might be a puller for an engine pulley like a generator, power steering, crankshaft pulley, and the such.
  4. Grant, Looks like we have been doing the same thing. ..................................Finished up the Wife's car last fall............................. Larry
  5. You might try one of these products. ............................................................................................................................................................................... SEM 39357 - Flexible Urethane Foam 3M Automix Flexible Foam - 08463 Lord Fusor 121 or 124 Flexible Foam
  6. Brian, I believe that it was the original to the car, + maybe one set of tires. Probably late 70's or early 80's.
  7. The other place to be watchful of is Craigslist. I occasionally sell items on Craigslist and many times I will get an email asking for more information, price reduction, etc. My standard answer to the email is to call me as my phone number is on the listing and I will meet you and talk price in person looking at the item. And on these type of transactions my standard payment is "In God we trust, All others pay cash"
  8. To be correct, I believe that the GM name on the jar was Opitclean. windshield washer solvent.
  9. Brian, Left before the bidding started as there was nothing that I could use. I agree with all of the WWII stuff. Just overwhelming. Larry
  10. Here is a picture of the spare tire from my Wife's Corvette that was in storage..........................................................................................
  11. And did someone ask for some pictures of the spare engine behind the building??.................................................................................................... As you can guess I did go down to the auction, but ended not staying. I did not see any other Buick stuff so took off for home as I was looking for 4 cyl parts. Maybe I will see you next time Brian.
  12. Did someone say they wanted some more pictures? Here are some more pictures of the car engine on the other side, etc........................................
  13. Here is a response from a friend of mine that is extremely knowledgeable of this vehicle. "Not something to be left to an amateur. Best thing is to get a Service Manual and follow the directions or get someone who knows how to do the job."
  14. I believe that the valve in front of the intake is for preheating the air before it goes into the carb. The ability to rotate the amount of cool air versus hot air compensates for the different quality of fuel from something close to kerosene to a lighter gas. Just IMO
  15. Would guess a 6 cylinder, but not a Buick
  16. Everything can be moved. Just takes money and time.
  17. I have listed this left front fender on ebay if someone has a need for it or would like it. I can bring it Chickasha this week. PM me if you think the price is too high. Thanks 1926 1927 26 27 Buick Standard Left Front Fender Can Deliver to Chickasha | eBay
  18. Interesting thing can happen when an alternator goes bad like that. You can come out in the morning and try to start the car and it will not turn over. Acts like the engine locked up when it is really just the alternator frozen. Been there, done that. I have actually heard of people replacing the engine because of that.
  19. I will be there on Thursday. Look forward to seeing everyone.
  20. That kind of looks like a Delco generator. I seem to remember that there were some Cadillacs a number of years ago with that configuration.
  21. I would say that it would be an igniter for some sort of gas fired item. There is a similar one like that is used to fire the optional gas heater used in early 60-64 Corvairs. Here are a couple of pictures of the Corvair igniter.
  22. It might be a picture of a car distributor that serviced dealers in a specific territory.
  23. The 46 plug in question is a standard sparkplug. The 46 designates the heat range of the plug. If it was a R46, it would designate a resistor plug. If it had a R46S, it would be a resistor plug with a skirt below the threads that the 46 plug would just have threads to the end. All of these plugs use a steel washer/gasket. If it was an R46TS, it would have a tapered seat with no washer and a skirt below the threads. If my memory is correct, the 46 would designate a hotter plug and a 45 less hot, and a 44 a colder plug. Hope this helps.
  24. Might be a silly question, but has this car been for a swim? Might be a wiring problem if the interior of the car was flooded to the sill plates.
