  2. Larry, Thanks for the information. As for the rivet, I have a friend that has a bunch of rivets. If you can post a picture with dimensions, I can ask if he has some. Bob's has some lining. Do one of these fit? Brakes Larry
  3. It is also a good time to check the gas tank for any areas of weaknesses.
  4. Not sure what the part is. Is it a piece of trim or a window channel track? Could you post a picture of where it goes on the door?
  5. dibarlaw, Did you make the seal & gasket or buy them? If you bought them, where did you get them from. Thanks,

  11. That's interesting. I thought that usually the rivet heads were on the lining side countersunk by the pressure and the peened side was on the metal side of the shoe.
  12. Does anyone have the drawings or dimensions for the intake / exhaust valves for the small 4 cylinder engine used in the 1917/1918 D-35/E-35 cars? Redoing a head and looking for the correct dimenstions, angles, lenths, etc. Thanks for any help.
  13. Here is the best flaring tool that I have ever used..... but not cheap KENT MOORE J-45405 BRAKE PIPE FLARING TOOL | eBay
  14. Maybe a dumb question, but did you hear it run before you purchased it? If not are the spark plug wires in the right position? Just a thought.
  15. From experience the water trick may work for getting carbon, etc off the valves and top of the pistion. If I thought there was a problem with stuck rings and excessive carbon on the valves and top of the pistions, like said earlier get the engine warm and then put in GM Top Engine Cleaner by pouring down the carb. Pour in until the engine stalls or the can is done. Then let the engine sit for several hours or overnight before restarting. Besides working on the carbon on the valves, it will also soften up anything that might be causing the rings to be tight. Here is a link with a picture and your local dealer may have it. 16. I believe it is a cap with an oil / crankcase breather in it. Would be used prior to 1963(?) I believe when the PVC system came into being. I remember seeing something similar on my Dads 55 Chevy.
  17. The two brackets look similar to the brackets for a small teens truck with a top and are used to hold the verticla supports. Look towards the bottom of this link to see the brackets. http://forums.aaca.org/f169/wood-framework-above-truck-bed-297992.html
  18. My Dad still has his RCA Color TV from 1955 or '56 that look similar to this. I remember that he paid several hundred dollars for it when he got it and there were only three shows in color. Two of the three were Bonanza, The Wonderful World of Disney, and there was a third that I do not remember.

  20. I would guess about 1918 because of the rounded fenders.
  21. Buick also had the captured valves and cage '15 & prior. Here is a pix of a '12 engine http://forums.aaca.org/f165/1912-buick-speedster-barn-find-300983.html
