  1. I will send you a pm and call me. I will be able to help you immensely if you would like. Larry
  2. Best shows that I attend in the Detroit area are the "MotorMuster" show at Greenfield Village on Fathers day weekend for vehicles 1932-1976 and the "Old Car Festival" the first weekend after Labor day also at Greenfield Village. They charge $25.00 and it is worth it because there is no blaring DJ and your get to show your vehicle on the village grounds. No chopped and channeled vehicles allowed. Both shows are intended to show vehicles as they were when built. These two shows are my highlight for summer. Also, don't smoke, don't drink, don't gamble, no girl friends, Just a Great Wife and the trucks where we spend our money.
  3. NOT a Buick truck! If you read the description it has a Ford Model A engine and drivetrain. Vin shows it to have started as an E-35 Touring. The 1918 E-4 trucks are in the serial number range of 337783-340282
  4. If you look at the information below the picture, The reason that the soldier is there is because Dayton, Ohio had an extremely bad flood in 1913 and I am sure he is standing guard for looters. If you go to Dayton today you will see large earth retaining walls running through town along the river which were the correction for the flood of '13.

Is the float brass or composite/cork? I am guessing brass. If you do not hear anything inside of a brass float would guess good. If the float is not brass then would look to replace it. If the float is good, would look carefully at the seat where the float needle goes in the body for a damaged needle, cracks, or debris causing fuel to leak past the needle & seat. On another kind of doubtful, what is the fuel pressure? Did someone put in an electric fuel pump that might have a higher pressure than specification for the operating fuel pressure for this vehicle. Just a couple of thoughts.
  6. Here are a couple of articles about the Allegheny in the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. http://www.thehenryford.org/research/alleghenyLocomotive.aspx http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2-6-6-6

Have you checked your float? Sounds like it is not buoyant to close off the fuel. Just a thought.
  8. Wonder if that was a result of a chuck hole in the road or some other problem with the road?
  9. Pete, Thanks for the nice article on Buick Trucks. Larry
  10. I was there with the '15 truck and it was a great time with great weather.
  11. Serious issues like does the engine turn over or run?
  12. You may have driven more lately, but I have the largest collection I think according to the September Bugle. 2
  13. Same type of hood as if I remember right, the 1985-1990 Buick Park Avenues & LeSabres.
  14. I remember seeing them mainly on Fords of the 60's.
  15. Would like to see more pictures of the truck from different angles. Good luck on you endeavor.
  16. Is the piece European? The advertisement is from France.
  17. Bumper jacks as I have only heard them called have been around a long time in one form or another. Your example with a screw adjustment is just one style of the same theme. These jacks were used well into the 1970's depending on the vehicle. Newer versions have a latch mechanism. Here is a picture of a newer style that I believe goes to a late 60's or early 70's GM car.
  18. Everything that I have seen the seats are bolted to the floor. I would take a look from underneath the car and look for some bolts that are going down (looking for bolt ends) on the underside of the floor board and then look what they go to above in the passenger compartment. Just a thought.
  19. I had one just like this one except it was beige with brown/ saddle interior. It even had the factory installed air conditioning like the one in the picture. Also had the aluminum V-8.
  20. Here is a great tool. Inspection Camera - Save on this Digital Inspection Camera You can also take pictures of what you are looking at. I have one similar to this one that I purchased at COSTCO and it is great. It can also be used to look up behind the dash, instrument cluster, doors, etc. besides inside of the cylinders through the spark plug hole. May not use it a lot, but worth the price when you need to see something.
