  1. This is a car I would love to own. The headlight eyebrows would be gone within the first 60 seconds of my possession and the visor 5 minutes later....then I'd drive and enjoy the car as is.
  2. I tend not to be a fan of whitewalls either but in this case I feel like the whole car works well together. I like everything about it.
  3. It would be really awkward if you are a lefty like me!
  4. While manual transmissions, hand crank windows and wind-wings have already been mentioned, I miss them. I also always liked looking down the hood of a Lincoln, Cadillac, and especially my '47 Nash and seeing a real chromed hood ornament there.
  5. I second Wayne's assessment of the year and value of the car. While a nice car is certainly is not a 1920. Could it have a replacement engine with a 1920 number? Yes. But the rest of the car screams 1925.
  6. Not to hijack your thread but I was wondering about a similar thing, high head hex bolts. What came off my car was probably 3/16-1/4 tall while all I can find now have bolt heads more like 1/8 tall.
  7. I need to get to Amelia Island in person some day. That being said, I really appreciate all the photos being posted as it may be as close as I can get for a while.
  8. So Ron, how was the Kissel received? Award winner or not, it would be a real delight to own and drive a car the caliber of one of your Kissels.
  9. Nice looking truck and trailer. I too am interested to see what you have in there!
  10. Here is the progress as of today. Now I need to get myself in gear and get the chassis finished. Don Booth is making great progress and I'm behind in the dust!
  11. 70 grand? I don't know, but there is no doubt in my mind, this is a very good looking car.
  12. I am not a whitewall guy myself but as-is this is a very attractive car. I like the body style a lot.
  13. I can't help thinking that I feel a little sad for the guy who has owned the car all these years but never got a chance to enjoy it. Sure, it's fun to see a small investment appreciate, but would have been more fun to be the man behind the wheel when the words "He drives a Duesenberg " were spoken.
  14. I have had interactions with several Franklin people over the weekend following a rather off-handed statement, "I NEED a Franklin" that I made the other day. One club member called me personally to invite me to renew my membership, another told me of a car he has for sale and yet another told me of several cars that are currently on the market. I have NEVER had another group of people make me feel more welcomed. Time to buy another Franklin I guess!
  15. I am fairly well educated (Ph.D.) but love getting my hands dirty. I admit that many of my colleagues simply don't get it. Honestly, I like that they don't get it. More cars for me.
  16. I like this one a lot. It looks like a great car. Too bad it appears to be overseas.
  17. I'm not sure the Twenty Grand would make the top 5 Duesenberg sedan list at all, at least not in my book.
  18. I was thinking more like $8500-10,000 particularly since it is not a factory body. And...if you've never driven one, the huckster seats like this car has in place are absolutely miserable after about an hour of driving.
  19. Good choice of beer there Sco tt. Great explanation of your work.
