  1. In my case, I have a daughter who could easily navigate the rumble seat but she's a redhead with skin to match. Leaving her in a rumble seat for the day would turn her into a lobster!
  2. This is a car I would love to own. The headlight eyebrows would be gone within the first 60 seconds of my possession and the visor 5 minutes later....then I'd drive and enjoy the car as is.
  3. I tend not to be a fan of whitewalls either but in this case I feel like the whole car works well together. I like everything about it.
  4. It would be really awkward if you are a lefty like me!
  5. While manual transmissions, hand crank windows and wind-wings have already been mentioned, I miss them. I also always liked looking down the hood of a Lincoln, Cadillac, and especially my '47 Nash and seeing a real chromed hood ornament there.
  6. I second Wayne's assessment of the year and value of the car. While a nice car is certainly is not a 1920. Could it have a replacement engine with a 1920 number? Yes. But the rest of the car screams 1925.
  7. Not to hijack your thread but I was wondering about a similar thing, high head hex bolts. What came off my car was probably 3/16-1/4 tall while all I can find now have bolt heads more like 1/8 tall.
  8. I need to get to Amelia Island in person some day. That being said, I really appreciate all the photos being posted as it may be as close as I can get for a while.
  9. So Ron, how was the Kissel received? Award winner or not, it would be a real delight to own and drive a car the caliber of one of your Kissels.
  10. Nice looking truck and trailer. I too am interested to see what you have in there!
  11. Here is the progress as of today. Now I need to get myself in gear and get the chassis finished. Don Booth is making great progress and I'm behind in the dust!
  12. 70 grand? I don't know, but there is no doubt in my mind, this is a very good looking car.
  13. I am not a whitewall guy myself but as-is this is a very attractive car. I like the body style a lot.
  14. I can't help thinking that I feel a little sad for the guy who has owned the car all these years but never got a chance to enjoy it. Sure, it's fun to see a small investment appreciate, but would have been more fun to be the man behind the wheel when the words "He drives a Duesenberg " were spoken.
  15. I have had interactions with several Franklin people over the weekend following a rather off-handed statement, "I NEED a Franklin" that I made the other day. One club member called me personally to invite me to renew my membership, another told me of a car he has for sale and yet another told me of several cars that are currently on the market. I have NEVER had another group of people make me feel more welcomed. Time to buy another Franklin I guess!
  16. I am fairly well educated (Ph.D.) but love getting my hands dirty. I admit that many of my colleagues simply don't get it. Honestly, I like that they don't get it. More cars for me.
  17. I like this one a lot. It looks like a great car. Too bad it appears to be overseas.
  18. I'm not sure the Twenty Grand would make the top 5 Duesenberg sedan list at all, at least not in my book.
  19. I was thinking more like $8500-10,000 particularly since it is not a factory body. And...if you've never driven one, the huckster seats like this car has in place are absolutely miserable after about an hour of driving.
