  1. Yes Regal 30 Here is the back part of a touring body in my yard.
  2. The definition of a MOTOR is a device that changes some source of energy into motion. That could be hydraulic fluid under pressure turning a shaft using an hydraulic motor or even the stroke of a cylinder. A windmill using the power of moving air is a motor ( hence the AEROMOTOR brand of windmills). A water wheel driving a gristmill or electric generator is a motor. Cars whether electric steam or gasoline have a motor. A special subset of motors that use heat as their source of energy are called "heat engines", whether external combustion steam or internal combustion gasoline or diesel. Now an archaic term that has been shortened in common practice to "engine". Thus steam and gasoline cars can be said to have either a motor or an engine but electric cars only have a motor! Enter semantics, the English language is full of exceptions to the rule caused by common usage. A railroad engine seems to be always an engine because it pulls the train down the tracks regardless of whether it is steam, diesel or electric powered! Yes clear as mud!!
  3. Someones joke to make his car have a droopy eye just like the driver !!
  4. These terms vary by region of the country, manufacturer, time and more! You might say they even vary by location on the car! Early Fords 1903-1910 do not have tapered rear axles, the hub is held on the axle by a pin which is kept in place by the screw on hubcap. The rear hubcaps are functioning members, you cannot drive the car without them. Front "hubcaps" are just "grease caps" to keep the grease in and dirt out, they are identical to the rears. Call the fronts what you will but the rears are more than a grease cap.
  5. 1923-1925 6 cylinder Stutz with wood wheels For your info: 4 cylinder cars 1912-1916 with wood wheels have a hexagon for the wrench, 8 cylinder cars have an octagon for the wrench but are larger in diameter
  6. I suspect this is an accessory 30x 3 1/2 tire size wire wheel for Model T Ford. Dates from the teens and made to slip over the stock wood wheel hub.
  7. Not motor vehicle at all, one of a pair from a hand cart, possibly WWI Army surplus.
  8. Am not familiar with these starters but it is not understanding that there is an overrunning clutch involved.
  9. And to make matters more confusing... Falls and other companies made Wisconsin type A engines under license that went into FWD trucks for WWI. FWD could not manufacture all the trucks that the US Army ordered for WWI so they subcontracted both engines and their own 4 wheel drive trucks. Thus some FWD trucks never saw the FWD factory and were powered by Wisconsin engines that never saw the Wisconsin engine factory!
