  1. open and clear-sells for 299. rdz69@aol.com
  2. Posted Wednesday at 09:22 AM · Report post My honest and heartfelt posts were both deleted because they "offended" somebody. I have yet to be informed of why. This is EXACTLY why I do not join clubs. Illustrated clearly by the deletions. I suspect this one will also have a short life. There are too many people who are so full of themselves for any club to last long. I was not looking for sympathy (that can be found in the dictionary between syphilis and shit in case you were wondering), but merely illustrating why people do not generally join clubs. While I have a great respect for the admins of this forum, the deletion of posts (A.K.A. CENSORSHIP) that do not fit into someones agenda proves that my comments while honest, can not be tolerated. This is one reason our country is going the way it is. Nobody can take honesty and everyone is so afraid to be offended that they just can't be mature. Well I say Too bad! Grow up and man up for crying out loud! No worries, this post will also disappear soon like the rest and no explanation will be given and without the negative, but honest experiences deleted you all can feel that the world is a utopia much like living in N. Korea. You will see what the power that be want you to see and nothing more. The PMs I received confirm that I am far from the only one who feels this way. I am the only one who speaks up about the censorship. Bhigdog, dep5, helfen and 3 others like this x2
  3. At Bonham's next month. A takeaway from the other post was that the original asking price was $30k. Wonder if Bonham's will get 5X. How much you wanna bet it breaks 300k? No wonder carini is drooling! I dont like the guy. Gives the hobby a bad name in my book. show should be called- chasing classic Money! He does for the car community, what Antiques Roadshow did for the antique trade..............................!
  4. the same car was just for sale on ebay. you might try and contact them to see if they have any "extra" parts by chance or recommendations. GL!
  5. and then there is China, for making the lenses..................... would still cost a small fortune.
  6. why not go get it yourself? rent a hauler and be on your way. Not a bad ride...................
  7. after looking at all of the other "projects" I wouldnt fool around on this one. if the price is right, buy the darn thing, because this looks real decent and a little clean up is always in order. I agree, the interior looks fine by me and I am assuming you want to drive this around and not win a national. I am sure the sons are not in a hurry-this was their Dad's and often hard to let go of memories. GL!
  8. 1974 Duster................................
  9. nice one just sold on the bay about a month ago- around 25k just needed new batts and a good cleaning.
  10. horrible-consider going slower and taking back roads when cruising............................
  11. only you can make the final decision and in the end, yes it only comes down to how much you want to spend. Whether one wants to admit, it is all about what you are getting for the price. that truck looks like 10k to me, but Im not in the mkt for one and may be a great value. as it seems so few are out there, I guess if I were you, the most important thing for me would be any rust issues. seeing we are both from the same general area........... 10 or 15k doesnt seem to buy much these days. any less looks to be a major project or parts car.
  12. The Day the Jag Stood Still. the inevitable with Jags..............................! "the day the music would die............."
  13. Member Members 5 72 posts Locationnevada · #30 Posted 4 hours ago · Report post Back in the early 70s my father asked why I would put over $100 into a beat up truck I payed $75 for. ( 1932 Ford sedan delivery ) Well, you had to use it to haul something! guess there's more then 100. bucks in the back today.............................................
  14. Aside from the meaninglessness of my silly tagline youre silly tagline got stuck in my brain and thus, what I spewed out............... farvegnugen!
  15. This is a really constructive thread! Both sides of the question are well discussed, and either way, it makes me want to go out and either buy another car or drive one I already have. this thread has made me realize how upside down I am on owning too many cars.................... (as in broke)! time to sell a few! Matt, you always bring clarity to the discussion and may I add, with an unbiased opinion. I always appreciate what you have to say.
  16. "Indecision is the key to flexibility" indecision is an answer................ just not the one anyone wants to hear............................!
  17. Should I run away? not a bad idea........................!
  18. Al has it. Meant to look like a copy of a 540k.......................! 175k ouch!
  19. sorry, not much that new- most are 20's-50's nothing alfa. (if you write me at rdz69@aol.com-I can tell you how I can get one)
  20. the xk and xke's are now bring big $, but only because of the ferraris................ they were cheap a few years ago- along with 280sl's, 356, lamborghinis etc. woulda coulda shoulda.........................! concerning that jag, auburnseeker run forrest run!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. I agree with Franklin- if it were a 1916-22 Baby Grand, ( the larger model) it would be worth a bit more, due to rarity. otherwise, pretty much a model T Ford in value. Just harder to find parts for.....
  22. point taken-never owned a 32 Plymouth and after this thread, prob never will........... thx!
  23. as Vermontboy stated, if everything is set up correctly, there is no reason that the Plymouth wont go 55-60 mph. the Plymouth has at least 55hp and a Model A Ford only 40 hp. Model A Fords set up correctly have no problem running 60 mph all day long. That is the way Henry designed them-with close tolerances. most of these cars today are NOT set up correctly, and so everyone is happy with 45mph for a short ride......................
  24. I would put vinegar in the rad and let it soak for a couple of weeks as in 3-4. have always had good success with that. would also leave the thermostat out till you solve the heating issue. regarding the trans, would thin the grease a bit-can be done by adding a little atf. Also, you might consider double clutching to see how the shifting goes. really really like your ride. you did a nice job!
