  1. YOU KNOW YOU ALWAYS WANTED ONE OF THESE! 199. FROM VIRGINIA RDZ69@AOL.COM
  2. This is interesting to me and I am 55. What I find interesting is that I was always one of the younger guys in the past (preferring brass cars 20 years ago), but preferred to hang out with the older guys....................... they were always interesting and knew a hell of a lot more then me. My perspective is quite different obviously.
  3. as a friend once said, you cant kiss all of the girls, but the spice of life is more then one.............................................!
  4. splash guard under the grill is called the radiator apron
  5. all 1910 NJ plates are that color. However there is a good chance that it was for a Mercer, because of the M designation. Fred Hoch has one of these on his speedster and a 1912 plate from the Mercer factory just sold last week on ebay................ it was found on the roof of the Mercer Factory in the 1960's. The one on ebay sold for 350. and was in a bit better condition. That is a fun historical find!
  6. looking for a pair of so so fenders for the rear of my 46 chevy pu. years 41-46 will fit. rdz69@aol.com
  7. Nice car and first year of the 8 cylinder. Heck, the engine is worth the asking price.........................!
  8. whatever the value in original state, I would suspect about a 40% loss due to the drive train. For a purist, this might take them out of the equation.
  9. Nicely done Ron! A beautiful car................ with the number you site, I agree with Ed in Mass- never knew as many existed. Sounds similar to the number of Mercers extent.
  10. I agree with ebay over prewar. While prewar might be more "hardcore" as to it's audience, one cannot beat the millions of viewing audience on ebay. As previously stated, this has a 99% chance of going to a brass car collector for show rather then use. So ebay with a reserve of the minimum you must have for it............................
  11. I would wager that there probably are not more then 1o of that Buick 90 in existence. That being the case, the point is it is a rare car................!
  12. I would prosecute to the fullest extent of the law! or buy your mailman a subscription for Christmas...................
  13. restorer 32 is spot on with his pricing and ebay will get you your best bang for the buck. forget CL......... ebay fees are around 125. per car and will get you very close to actual market value at this date and time. best 2 times of year are now, for the spring and fall. mid summer can be a dead season and winter is, well winter. auction houses take too much in fees for very avg cars such as these and also much effort. they are in nice shape, but not big money cars.
  14. looking for two pair of type 20's or whelans for a pair of rusty builds.................. rdz69@aol.com
  15. John, another way to consider the aspect of the Chinese buying up our collector cars............................ they are first buying up our real estate and many, yes many are moving here first. So the aspect of them owning our antiques and classics on our soil is very real. They are a clever bunch, hence their extreme wealth in recent times. It only took thousands of years, but the change of their politics has allowed for their capitalism. Vancouver in the last 20 years has become inundated with Hong Kong expatriates. All because Hong Kong was about to be owned by the mainland. Real estate there has easily gone 5 fold or more.
  16. I believe it was neither of the Porsche's. Hans Ledwinka, designer of the Tatra 87 was captured by the German forces and put to work at efficiently designing 'The People's car' Porsche was the designer of the first VW, but it has long been argued that he stole the concept from Hans................... and his Tatra Concerning Eva Brauns car, as a teenager, I remember reading an article where Hitler had the Mercedes gold plated and presented to her for her birthday. So true, that is not the car so where might the gold plated Braun car be?
  17. easy to blame the owner for letting it sit there, but maybe he is tired of people making offers of say, two hundred dollars.................. happens quite often, ya know!
  18. Had you engaged in civil litigation it is very likely that you would have been successful. Lawyers arent cheap, as you know.................. 5000. to get started and my time to fly to Florida made it wiser to just walk away. sometimes it just isnt worth it........................................!
  19. Used an insured company eight years ago for hauling a 1937 Buick from Cali to NJ recd a call 3 days in- was told my car burned up- thought it was a joke.................. it wasnt. Was told the transport co was insured for 300k and i would be fine. Owner refused to pay. Driver told me that he didnt disconnect the battery. He drove my car off, to get another car dropped. When he put my car back on, he believed the seat spring crossed the battery under the seat. The tow company demanded their tow payment and i told them I didnt want the burned out hull in my driveway. Long story short, it wasnt worth flying to FL to sue the haul company and the broker refused liability as well. the lesson in all of this-ALWAYS PUT INSURANCE ON YOUR VEHICLE BEFORE IT IS HAULED-you never know what might happen. Yes, I was screwed and an expensive lesson at that!
  20. a nice fresh title............................. 475. rdz69@aol.com
  21. probably wasnt looking to spend 18k, that would be a safe assumption if it isnt the color he really wtd.
  22. putting this car together from scraps, so looking for an inexpensive column near 08054 NJ rdz69@aol.com
  23. down to the 2 rear fenders only.................... and a box if it's close by 08054 rdz69@aol.com
  24. need windshield frame-useable lower front grill and apron 2 rear fenders rdz69@aol.com
