  1. . People are faking patina nowadays. they are? no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh the humanity...........................................................!
  2. I would continue with ebay and set reserves. Be very wary of craigslist. some very crazy people on there................. fact.
  3. kudos Larry! each time I tow another one in the yard, wife says, when did you get that? My answer is- are you kidding me? I bought that over a year ago, you never noticed?
  4. De Dion engines were installed on over 150 diff makes of bicycles between 1901 and approx 1910.
  5. Lovely bikes, have looked at them many times- all out of my price point, unless I want a motor wheel..............
  6. So, how do y'all get your wives on board with your hobby? Marry the "right" woman.....................
  7. F and J is on with his comments. Though Chevy outsold Ford in 31, there are very few chevys left, because of the wood. years by desirability would be 32 first, then 31 and 30 and 29 are about equal. they all had the 6 cyl engine. as mentioned, watch out for a bad head. each year has unique features, but there is some ex changeability in the mechanicals and very little in body parts. even the wheels shrank in size pretty much yearly. every time I needed a part for my 31 roadster, I found myself buying a bulk of parts to get the ones I wtd, and then reselling what I didnt need. Fords are soooooooo much easier. good luck!
  8. #3 is a radiator support #3 frame support you are correct on #1
  9. front and back seats for a 30 4 dr sedan rdz69@aol.com
  10. you will spend more on a lawyer then what you will get in return. my opinion. lesson learned.
  11. plenty listed in Hemmings motor News-buy a copy or go online.
  12. Congrats Jay-nice car! I had a 1930 of this body style, model 58. Was a terrific car, ran like a top but finally sold it due to needing wood replacement. You will fall in love with this car!
  13. Plus someone might take that 1978 Ford Granada that is cheap regardless of age and daily drive it too. In NJ they just passed a law that any pre 1995 car needs no inspection. so my 93 taurus with 50k original miles is my new daily driver. was going to sell it, nobody wants it and so it is the default vehicle here and now.
  14. It appears Max knows his Hupps-nice! Because of that info, the price would come down a good bit as earlier mentioned, concerning the dates. This isnt considered a brass car. Also while the cosmetics look good, the engine appears to need a bit of work. I would be right around 10k on this, give or take.
  15. wont work-this is also on the discussion forum. Nobody is going to trust their car to a driver that may beat it........................! where is the value in a few dollars when your motor is blown?
  16. Although maybe the steam would scare the traditional high end buyers? dont think so. The Stanleys pull a pretty good price and the high end buyers can generally afford "helpers" or mechanics to do the grunt work. Havent seen a Doble for sale in forever years!
  17. I mix it up and use it for a sealer when putting in new subfloors................................................................!
  18. Greg, have gone through the same thing. Now that the kids have grown up and are out of the house, am getting the cars running one by one. A little late for the proms, but maybe one day the weddings? Dont beat yourself up. No matter how you plan life, it comes out quite differently... ....... On a good note, my oldest son went with me to Hershey. I wouldnt have gone otherwise. We had a nice time bonding and hopefully, we'll do it again sometime.
  19. dont know where you are- have a spare front seat from a 51 wagon- dont even know if it would fit? 75. my zip is 08054 in NJ
  20. Bernie, dont tell me you've joined a nudist colony?
  21. And, they're not lazy. This group is studying computer programming, website management, on-line marketing, law, medicine, radiation, robotics, etc. Yes, their heads are buried in their cell phones, but weren't ours buried under the hoods of our cars, tinkering with our engines? couldnt disagree with you more.................. Americans have become lazy! fact. My wife has an advanced degree in medicine at a teaching hospital in NY. The majority of students are foreign and either Indian or Chinese. Americans for the most part are NOT interested in medicine or science or mathematics. Just read the statistics and inform yourself................... and then there is the complaint of spending 200k on a college education and not being able to get a job................. all complaining done by Americans who have decided they need a degree in a useless profession after having wasted their college money.............. woe is me. I could go take a loan for a Duesenberg but dont. Why? because I know I cant afford it-so why borrow money when you know you cant pay it back? No common sense in this country any longer................. pull your Louisville slugger out, and have a wack at me!
  22. well Dyna, I appreciate and respect your opinion. good luck in your choices!
