Fabulous. It would be easy enough to recreate the missing parts. Electrical could be updated to use more efficient, possibly brighter, lighting than original.

Happy holidays to all from wintry Winnipeg! Best wishes for 2017 and beyond.

The original 1962 odd fire V6 was 196 cid.

Alas they are typically too few and far between....

I can attest to Tony's place as a fun spot for a PWD guy to visit. Great people, lots of knowledge and typically something interesting in the shop. That said, it can be an expensive place for a '29 guy to visit Tony had told me he intends to bring some parts to vend at the meet so we need to ensure he can find the PWD clubhouse. Ive only been to a pole barn and another spot for lunch in Rhinelander...that is closer to on the way home for me. I I had picked up some Wisconsin travel stuff this year (between the Brookfield people in Allentown, our stop over in Wisconsin Dells on the way home or my early November trip to buy stuff from Tony, I've had opportunities this year). One big issue is deciding which way to go as there's lots of interesting stuff - may even be able to find ice cream or cheese somewhere. Holy Hill looked interesting. I'm always up for a winery. It seems to me there was a Lake Michigan lighthouse to the North of Milwaukee. Hmm...it would seem I need to find the propaganda again. The down side at this moment is that I can't yet confirm that I/we will be able to attend the tour and what Buick I will have. I do have a couple options. It would be nice to bring down the '41 and have a prewar car...I'd like to have the 1975 Electra there for archival judging. The new toy should be on the road, but I don't yet know if that will be its unveiling. Decisions decisions. Work on the '29 is ongoing but I don't expect it to be ready. Hmmm. At least we can probably agree that we won't be driving east from the Milwaukee area. That narrows it down

All that was to say some young folks are interested in Buick automobiles.

As some of you may remember, Teresa wants a Buick the same vintage as she is...I was puttering around online recently and showed her a nice looking low mileage 1996 Century wagon. She's intrigued. The challenge right now is that winter has hit with a vengeance and the car is two hours away, to say nothing of full garage / shop space.

1930 model 47, got the frame back from powder coating today. :)
Thriller replied to Jack E's topic in Buick - Pre War
In the U.S. Buick production, the Model 47 was about 26% of model year production. If the same ratio applied for Canadian production (not sure how big that assumption is), that would imply about 1,000 of thes specific cars were produced. Where I grew up in the prairies, with winter cold, once there were closed cars available, the adoption of them with respect to winter was high, so there were fewer convertibles / touring cars as they were less practical much of the year and there wasn't a lot of wealth around (perhaps more applicable to later years when convertibles were priced at a premium over closed cars). -

In 1930, there were 4603 McLaughlin-Buicks produced (no model breakdown). I thought I had some frame / engine number info but don't seem to. I do have some additional details about the early cars. -
I've been gone from IT for a long time but the "God syndrome" happens often enough. If he isn't already using one, Peter needs to have a Joe User account to be able to replicate things. Of course, if the issue is related to iOS handling of images, one would need to have access to Apple products / images to replicate.

Shut off the vacuum tank? I'm not as familiar with thes as I'd like and I haven't touched mine in three years, but mine has a vacuum / vacuum tank issue, so if there is something that can be turned on / off, that's something I should check.

The most frustrating thing is getting someone to figure out where you are...even on an Interstate just outside Coeur D'Alene, ID...of course they seemed to think I was in some completely different state. When in touch with CAA, they have sometimes put me in touch with the local towing company who knew exactly where I was.

I thought you were from Jawja, boy! What's this about shoes? Good thing I'm not on here daily. Thanks for saving the photos...nice car. Of course, if I were, Lamar might be accusing me of theft again.

The answer for New Yorkers would seem to be make friends in Kansas who can register it, then you'd be able to get it with a transferable title of sorts. -
What's it like to sell a driving Buick? I haven't experienced that.

We saw one in Wisconsin Dells on our way home from Allentown. It is a nice car. We did spend some time looking at the one at the fiftieth celebration. Suzanne wouldn't be upset about having one.

Chicken Delight car if I have it right. It's local and has been tidied up.

Elvis sighting!

No sled Mark, but 4WD, yes. The reality is that I'm out of space until I can (re-)organize some of the cars in the country. As it is now, it looks like one in the shop will spend the winter in the trailer. Im a bit far away, but may be able to work in a day trip if someone wanted eyes on it.

That's cool. I have friends in Moncton and Miramichi. I have some Acadian background in me too. If if you send me the VIN, I can confirm a bit...I don't have a lot of details. -
The passenger side mirror on my 1941 is pretty close to useless...small round unit that is mounted in a poor location for visibility.

Nice. Whereabouts are you, to have a Canadian car? I know a lot have made their way south of the border over the years. I do have some data on the production numbers of the McLaughlin-Buick...would need to get to my computer for that.
