  1. I agree with the above comments, but I think the 70sWagonners should raise the question on HPOF (which is the AACA designation) rather than the Buick Club Forum which has been noted uses a different criteria for judging on cars that are not fully restored. You can review the BCA judging manual on this forum. John
  2. John, Good to see the Buicks. I had the show on my calendar but other commitments to me in another direction. Glad you had a good day. John
  3. John, Could you do a trip by jumping on US 22, and than PA 512. I would think that is the route I would take. But 22 does get some afternoon traffic. John
  4. Terry, I think someone asked about him before, and I recall in the '70s, my father knew him slightly and may have bought some parts. I will ask around and let you know. John
  5. Just a quick small addition to Bill's note, there is also a cut-off date of July 6. Otherwise, you will have to look for someone selling tickets. Personally, I am think these tours have so much interest and there may not be many tickets being swapped. John
  6. Buick Regal GS, I suggest you call the office for clarification, but, I believe, as long as you meet the deadline for changes (registration) and you tell them, they can make sure you get the correct parking area, as these cars are a twenty year differences and will be in different areas. Naturally, the earlier the decision is made, the better it will be for those involved in parking arrangements. John
  7. I believe the safety glass may even crack, so I avoid raising my windshield. I just try to avoid that by opening all the other side windows, and making sure there is nothing "loose" in the car. Make sure they have the right thickness for your channel in the regulator. John
  8. Lamar, I am glad you changed this, as my eyes are not as good as John D's are. About Ray Brock, as he was about 10 years older than I, I considered him my mentor, by remote, by his regular articles in Hot Rod. I encourage others to read his obit (2002) by a simple google search (but they have a few others with the same name. Ray was a trained electrical engineer, but soon drifted to the mechanical side and eventually into the SouthCal drag racing scene, and then into all forms of racing, and developing his writing skills. John
  9. Pete, That sure brings back a lot of memories. I almost forgot what the "bones" looked like, some years ago. Still putting together my list of what I need and will e-mail you. John
  10. Well, Allentown is certainly an opportunity. Let's see what shows up!! John
  11. I received an e-mail from the son of Brian. Some years ago, this car, previously from Arkansas, was sold by his father. Recently, they have found some original paperwork for this car and would like to see it "connected' to the current owner. Does anyone know about this car? I will get everyone connected. John
  12. And written by no less than Ray Brock !!! John
  13. Dave, Thanks for sharing. Love the space between cars. The good old days. John
  14. Larry,, I checked the BCA roster and there are but a handful listed and none nearby. This sure is short notice and I checked her web site and I am not sure what listed categories that car would fit. Also, this looks like a one day appearance, so I think she is out of luck. Dave Brady and Mac Blair (I do not believe either use the forum) in PA list 1949 Wagons (Super) and a gentleman in Maryland list a 1949 Roadmaster Wagon. You might suggest she contact them or you can ask. I am not sure what condition these cars are in, but it seems she is looking for high end cars. John
  15. I have an interest if I could pass off my '90 red one, and where it is located. John
  16. Larry, Reminds me of the saying, "where there is a will, there is a way" John
  17. I think they need a bigger weapon to "put it out of misery", once and for all. Doubt a scrap dealer would want to haul it out.. Just my opinion. John
  18. Hello to all, Depending in MA where cpre is located, we may be able to get some of these pieces to Allentown, depending when they can be disassembled (but cannot say for certain, at this time). I will PM cpre to see how we can help. John
  19. Thanks everyone for your input. I got the VIN from the title but will verify it with the engine number. The VIN is usually the frame number, not the engine number. John
  20. First, I would suggest you repost on the Pre War section of this forum. Does the car not have a tag on the engine side of the firewall? If so, this will give you some information that will help. Where did you get the VIN number? That isusually on the frame near either front wheel, depending on the age of the car. John
  21. The address listed on the mail wrapper is 808 Fenwick St., Allentown. Hours the Registration will be open, I believe are also posted, or will be listed. By the way, this is just over the request for volunteers on the wrapper. (hint) John
  22. Southpaw, Do you have any idea of the cost? John
  23. I would just say, that with so many on facebook and other social media, it would be hard to direct the actual vote, as it seems only a small number of members use this format, so I am not sure how many more voters we would get. John
  24. Matt, Thanks for that summary. I think you are correct. John
