  1. 34 Ford, good find if it's all there...
  2. I guess I do have that one...
  3. Getting back to the Maxwell piece at the top, it's one of those things I hate to see being sold as an original. I'm not sure who made these, or why for that matter, but they are from the 1970's and were some form of gas station premium. The more common ones being misrepresented are the Dusenberg, Stutz 8, Cord, Auburn, and other big names of the era. I have also seen "sets" that were several pieces glued to a cardboard backer. Each of these are bronzed white metal with soso quality and nothing on the back. As for the real one shown, I do not have that style either, but if you want to see a collection of these search my profile for my images and you should be able to see them.
  4. Having one more car than I have storage for, I resemble this comment...
  5. Remember all the cars left to rot outside over the last 50 years because the owner thought it was worth tons of cash??? I remember a 34 Ford Cabriolet that whenever someone came close to the asking price it changed by another $1000 to a point where you could have had a brand new Cadillac for less money. This is one for the next generation to have the same experience with. And Jack, you should be more careful, saying you think it's a $500 car might lead to a line at your door trying to sell you similar "Classics". Thanks for the morning chuckle!
  6. I read this as he needed the piece that screws into the cylinder jug and held the spark plug, not the plugs. If 1/2" pipe threads then model T dealers will have them or you can order through any NAPA store. I think it's a 225 Champion plug.
  7. Do you have a picture of another one? I have a couple inserts but no idea what they fit.
  8. And here's where I found the link: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/3487/763964.html?1497532256
  9. This was on one of the Model T sites and I thought I would put it here. I'm using my phone and can't seem to be able to copy the text from there to here, but here's the link: https://maine.craigslist.org/cto/6162863466.html
  10. Never mind, I just flagged my own post and found out that is the report button. Now I feel pretty old, I thought that was like flagging an email...
  11. I usually brows using my iPhone and I can't see any way to report a suspect posting. Am I just missing it?
  12. Model A - you might be able to find a serial number on the drivers side rail top about foot forward of the cross rail to give an exact year
  13. I can see using graphite as more cars were black than colored. I'm actually surprised that this doesn't suggest spraying the undercarriage with used motor oil, I can remember my father doing this in a sand pit behind his shop in the 60's and won't speculate on the number of laws the EPA put in place since then...
  14. It's an aftermarket center mount lamp to help illuminate the center of the road and typically mounted on a headlamp bar. The bracket looks very universal to any mounting use.
  15. With the number of body tags held on with sheet metal screws I would be very cautious about that car. It alone speaks to being a poor "restoration"
  16. What part of Maine? I know a few people who might be able to help, but you have a large state and they may not be close to you.
  17. Thank you for the info, I never knew about the other Willys engine
  18. Wow, that is an awful ad - no pictures of the front end would make me curious, but to include the one with the very damaged steering wheel made me sick to think about how badly it was hit.
  19. I had a Jeepster with a Hurricane Six for a few summers about 35 years ago and it was a very good reliable engine with more than enough get up an go. I'm with Grog, what's the deal?
  20. You should try asking on the MTFCA forum, I'm sure that you will have an answer there.
  21. Having grown up in New England where a heavy coating of salt was Dumped on every snow flurry I remember the damage done to cars... I do remember a kid in high school that was trying to stuff a Corvair engine into a VW Thing but I can't remember if he ever had it running.
  22. Thank you, I always thought it was 27-8 but a larger series than the 70
  23. My first thought was Model T Ford aftermarket (original was steel) but A is a good possibility too
