  1. How about the 77 one Keiser? I have the 77 in my collection and never knew that there were so many nearly identical emblems...
  2. I guess it was Lee Iacocca's doing, but I was never a fan of Corvairs. That being said, it looks like a very solid one whereas I always thought that they rusted out worse than Lee's Rustang...
  3. I personally agree with that sentiment...
  4. Depending on how much you want it, there's one on eBay now with the radiator shell for $275 but you would have to have it enameled to those colors once you bought it. I have no personal interest in this auction, just passing it along
  5. I'm not surprised at how quickly this sold, hope that it gets a good home and will be able to see it finished!
  6. Funny thing, but there's one on eBay for something like $5200.00 right now... and no, I didn't add one too many zeros!
  7. Sorry about that, it's a spell check thing with my phone... A few years ago ago (10, 12?) I sent pictures and measurements to Karla of a Chalmers Detroit emblem and am still amazed by her reproduction of it for another Forum member. I never met her personally but talked with her at that time and then lost touch. Please give her my regards!
  8. I fully agree with the above comments regarding the condition, but I also agree with John to a point. There is a beginner collector somewhere that might look at this, but I place its value closer to $45 including shipping (on the high side) than the $115 it's on eBay for. I would not even want to think about the cost of having it restored but it could be done by someone like Carla Maxwell if you were not able to find another.
  9. That looks like a great start for a very nice speedster, I'd be tempted if I had any room!
  10. The best pair of jack stands like this that I ever saw were made from a 1912 Model T rear end which is a bit hard to find. Don Lang was 1 booth behind me - I missed them and he snatched them up for some really low price, of course this was 25-30 years ago but I still remember the lesson not to disregard taking a closer look at good old home made tools...
  11. How about a picture of the back - it's a question I ask about several of the obvious fake radiator emblems on eBay and 99% of the sellers know what they are selling but will not put it in the ad. Buyer Beware!
  12. Would have been my first guess too.
  13. Welcome to the Forum! I see that this is your first post and would suggest that you change your post description to have the car information and not your name so that more people will be less likely to skip over it. I would also suggest that you post both here and in the Buick section of this page. I don't know about your specific vehicle, but I have had to siphon off as much fuel as possible and drop the tank to drain others of this vintage, hope you have better luck...
  14. While I agree that the glass would be fragile for use in a car, I disagree with Pete. The earlier cars were all hand cranked and a battery was only used to excite the coils long enough for the switch to be moved from it to a magneto and would not have needed a large cable. For a long time I used a large flashlight dry cell to start a 15 Ford I had many years ago.
  15. I stole the idea from a book on automobile collectibles around 30+ years ago, since then I have seen only one person use a shell for a sign holder at a show and I think it's a great idea. Good luck with your car, you don't see many earlier Pontiacs around.
  16. If you know how, you can get into my pictures thru my profile, and if you look through those you should be able to see both sizes mounted on one of them. The large one is on a Chalmers shell, the smaller is on the Lincoln shell...
  17. It is the larger one http://m.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Pontiac-Car-Badge-Emblem-1920s-or-1930s-/361942393796?hash=item544572a3c4%3Ag%3AXxkAAOSwzgBY38Dx&_trkparms=pageci%3A819d63e6-1af3-11e7-9144-74dbd1808341%7Cparentrq%3A4470975615b0a8605e0965acffffd501%7Ciid%3A1
  18. I came looking for this thread as I saw an emblem on eBay, looks like a little too late...
  19. A very rare and seldom heard of car named Scraptinpyle. I believe that they were produced in the Neverada territories in limited quantities.
  20. Hiding its appearance so you have to wait for an unveiling...
  21. I'm sure that is a Jeep, and it has been covered over as it was a "next-years" model that the manufacturer wanted to keep its looks hidden while doing on-road testing. I agree that it was wasted time as the styling of these have not seemed to change much over the years...
  22. I thought the lawsuit was Packard against Buick and Studebaker who's 24 Special six had the Packard shape to the radiator too.
  23. TheMoneyPit

    What is it?

Leif is spot on, and the car is a Special Six with the plain headlight rims - and it also has the optional disc wheels more common to the Big Six
  24. I agree that 15-20k is realistic based on other Model A unique trucks.
  25. I think his price is highly optimistic...
