Is the Lincoln stock? I've never driven one myself so I can't comment from experience but I've heard many guys call them dogs - especially complaining if they get stuck behind one on a caravan going up hill. Is this criticism unfair?

I think the average age of a CCCA member has been stuck at 70 for 30 years. Also hasn't the club more or less maintained the same membership level at 5k for sometime? It is what it is and I kind of like it that way.

+1 I keep seeing cars I want to buy but it just doesn't make financial sense and I know it will take away precious resources from the ones I have and really need to finish.

I think it all depends on what your first car was. My first car was a 49 Plymouth Special Deluxe 2 door. My second car, on the other hand was a 69 GTO Conv which I wouldn't mind getting a copy of (mine was a crap box).

+1 on Stutz. The hoods are right. The buffalo wires are right. The hood ornament is throwing me off though.

I agree with Linc400 that there seems to be a bit too much deleting going on.

Most 1920s cars save Duesenberg and a few others are not modern highways cars without modification. In fact, most 1930s cars need help to cruise along at 65mph consistently. I think it all depends on what you are going to do with it. Cruising around town to local shows would be perfect for this. Btw, if anyone buys it I think I have those steering wheel levers.

What's funny is the only thing I like to see white walls on these days are early 60s Gassers.

I do not believe it's the same car from Owls head as that was an assembled car. I believe this one to be genuine.

This photo was taken in the parking lot of Billing's Marine in Shrewsbury Mass circa 1966. Billings did restoration work along with being a marina and in fact had 3 or 4 Duesenbergs on site when this photo was taken. Does anyone (George?) know who owned this car or what became of it?

"resale red" isn't really true any more, especially with prewar cars. You did well selecting those colors. They are appropriate and flattering to the car.

Most cars can be given to you for free and the restorations costs will put you under water in the end. However, I agree that this is definitely worth 3k.

George, A good stich welder can work miracles. They are very far and few between however. Are you sure the head is not salvageable?

With the Royale being the top of the line & expensive I would imagine most of those numbers were made up of Flying Clouds and the like. There are 3 or 4 known coupes and probably a few more hiding. What is interesting is the number of Victorias (which this thread was originally about). Along with the 2 or 3 that you see pictures of, there is the one in this thread as well as 2 more in Conn that I heard about. For every known car there are usually 1 or 2 that are not known.

I'm personally a fan of rear mounted spares. On a 540k you can add a few hundred thousands dollars if the factory happened to move them to the back of the car.
