  1. Approximately 1930 through 1937 Ford Phaeton Yellow in color This car was built between 1930 and 1937, Car has a parcel aluminum body, Dual cowls, It is believed to have been built for Edsel Ford, This car is only partially restored and still needs to be finished. and a few more:
  2. Here are the pictures from the auction site.
  3. I agree on the floorboards. I was looking at the door posts and the plywood between the seats. I'm always very skeptical as a general rule but I do respect Ed's opinion so it would REALLY be interesting to know more of the history.
  4. Selling a large lot is obviously going to bring less money, but much less aggravation. It was well put by the previous poster - which is more important: quicker but less money or more work but more money? A detailed list with many pictures will certainly help flush out potential large lot buyers.
  5. Could somebody post a picture of the original dual cowl? I'm not sure about that wood - although it certainly could have been replaced at some point. Cars like this really require history.
  6. You should post pictures as it makes it much easier. Dissembled projects are heavily discounted. The non-original motor in a Corvette is a further discount. However, you could use the 62 engine to get the correct 59 engine, although that ultimately depends on what you want to do with it. Also, you probably will get much better advice specific to a vette in one of the corvette only forums. This one seems pretty active, I'm sure there are others.
  7. I know less then nothing about Checker but I could see that grill fetching some money.
  8. You should post some pictures. Perhaps Derham performed a number of subtle modifications to a standard conv sedan.
  9. Because in a performance/sports car the most important instrument is the tach - not the clock! In race cars you sometimes see the Tach as three times the size of the other instruments.
  10. I like it except shouldn't the tach and the clock be reversed on a performance car?
  11. All of the 32-38 Classics and near Classics had cool dashes. This is Very Cool: Stutz DV32
  12. +1 It is human nature to have expectations but you really can never tell how any particular event will dole out awards. In general they make sure there are enough different trophies so all the regular heavy hitters are taken care of - ultimately they need these guys to bring back different cars each year. That said, just go and have a blast. A concours is nothing more then a high end show.
  13. Thanks Chuck! Are the Model designations found on the serial plates of the cars or on the engines? Also, do you know the difference between H & U or were then the same engine just different years? Did all 8s use the same transmission?
  14. Could someone knowledgeable with this particular year break down the L,C,F, H and U designations? What does each mean?
  15. Wow, I'm honestly missing this blasting that is going on. This site is the politest of the 4 or 5 I follow regularly. Like I said before, I think people are too patient around here.
  16. This is a picture of my first of 4 proms. 4 is what happens when you have a girlfriends 2 years younger then you. My understanding is the one pictured here is still good looking although I have not seen her in over 30 years. I think I only used this car for my first one, used my Mom's 74 Eldorado Conv for my second one, my 49 Plymouth Special Deluxe for the 3rd one and I believe my 69 GTO Conv for the 4th one.
  17. Generally these types of museum clearance sales do very well. Of course you need to see the cars in person to know for sure what the deal is but 99k for a 67 GT500 and 139k for the Silver Arrow seem like good buys on the surface.
  18. Thanks for making me spit my coffee all over my keyboard! Personally, I think people are too nice here.
  19. George, this is a book that has a roster of every car with pictures to ever appear at Pebble. Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance : 60thBook
  20. Hi Dave, Post your info to this site: Mercedes Benz 170-220 International Club Website The current owner should be thrilled to get such info. A.J.
  21. Do not buy a rusted car. You will regret it. My advice would be to look for a solid car with the nicest interior possible. Mechanical work can be learned and done by the home restorer. Quality interior work is very very hard to do on your own.
