  1. That is a nice looking car. I agree that this is a good spot for your internet aware Stutz aficionados. Post a few more pictures with a description and price.
  2. I think they are almost all metal but can't confirm that, here is a link to the full thread discussing the pictures: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=140516&highlight=willys+coupe
  3. Here is a link (originally posted on the HAMB) to a set of pictures of just about every willys coupe known to man. There are a number of original cars in here. http://public.fotki.com/AKAKustoms/willys/ A.J.
  4. Not to go off topic but there was no such thing as computer viruses until Microsoft software got connected to the net. You are way better off with Firefox or something else besides Explorer.
  5. No problem using the following: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
  6. I know it will fit the 53-54 Packard, maybe the 52? Check this out for more pictures and details: http://home.townisp.com/~alsancle/PackardContinentalKit.html Asking 750.00 plus shipping. A.J.

  8. See attached picture. I believe they went on the 29/30 cars. They are gabriels. A.J.
  9. In my humble opinion it will be very hard to establish a market value for that car short of actually selling it. An appraiser can only go by "comparable sales" and if there are few or none it makes the job impossible. Choosing the right auction venue is as important as the company. That car would be appropriate for RM's Arizona sale (to late for that one), Amelia Island, or Meadowbrook. Also, the Hershey Auction is a good place for older antiques based on the demographics of the attendees (and other cars). The prewarcar.com suggestion was a very good one too. Joris Bergsma who runs the site seems like a good guy and gets very excited over these kinds of cars. A.J.
  10. I think it's pretty cool. Sent you a pm. A.J.
  11. Is there any evidence that the engine has been swapped out? It was not a racer with that motor in it. However, race engines have a way of getting blown up or used for another car. The dash looks really cool, any chance of getting a better shot? What history was given to you by the seller? Is there a plate on the car somewhere?
  12. Thanks. I saw there was about a dozen vendors in hemmings but was hoping to get a personal reference from somebody for a particular one. A.J.
  13. I did a search and only came up with ceramic wheel recommendations. Does anyone have a reference for a shop that restores the Hard Rubber wheels that are found on the late 20s Stutz cars? thanks, A.J.
  14. Actually it is more dependent on what you want to pay. I've put some pretty junky cars in some pretty nice trucks. Since it is a short haul you should just find a local carrier with a good rep. Ramp trucks can often work well.
  15. Does anyone out there know of a company that does custom tire etching? I've got a new set of 20" racing tires that I need to have a custom pattern put on. The earliest pictures of my car show a checkerboard sort of pattern but I guess I would settle for having 3 thin whitewall stripes put on which is present in slightly later pictures. It would be great if I could have the lettered like they were originally. thanks, A.J
  16. The placard in front of the Hupp says 1930 Hupp Comet Speedster
  17. Good, I know where that is. I've got to go from the far right corner (looking from the bridge) of the choclate field. Now, if my dad is willing to bring them from the hotel to his spot in the Choclate Field Lamar is all set.
  18. Does anyone know where CW 45 - 47 is at Hershey? Is that the choclate field? I've got to lug Lamar's wheels by hand and I'm hoping its not across the street. A.J.
  19. I should note also that these wheels were used for 20 years and have not been cleaned up in anyway for quite some time. I found sliver paint here and there so at some point they were touched up but that was a long time ago.
  20. I've had some questions about just how presentable these wheels are. I've attached a picture of the worst wheel - the others are nicer. This one is missing the cap on the spinner. You can see the chrome is rubbed off where the stem goes. Also, there is dicoloration on the spoke stems. Right at 11:55 there is a spot which has silver paint where the chrome has rubbed through. I noticed today that some of the discoloration which I thought was the chrome rubbing through is actually dirt. Some amount of time cleaning and silver paint here and there and these will look good at 6 to 10 feet instead of 20. This is the worst spinner and has some pitting. Any questions, feel free to drop me an email. Also, we could deliver them to Hershey (if they are sold) and you could pick them up at the motel (about 5 miles from the field). A.J>
  21. Lamar, Maybe I wasn't following along. You wanted to do this? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1955-55-B...1QQcmdZViewItem In explorer or Firefox go to your listing in ebay. Use ctrl-A in the address box to select the address and ctrl-c to copy it. In your post use ctrl-V to paste it. A.J.
  22. My dad has had these wheels for 40 years. They were on a driving car up until a few years ago when he got a restored set. - All are marked Kesley-Hayes on the back - 4 are marked 6.5 width. - 1 is marked 6 width. - Usable "as is" for driver (some peeling chrome, one wheel has a ding in the rim). - Great for cores on an concours restoration - 5 spinners included although one is missing the insert. Buyer pay actual shipping anywhere in US/Canada. Looking for 450.00 or Best offer.
  23. The first picture gives you a good idea how they snipped the motor mounts, look in the left lower portion of the photo.
