  1. Yes. You don't mention if the numbers all match (which if taken literally is very hard to do). A fully documented muscle car (especially Mopar or Chevy) is worth more then a numbers matching but not documented car. But a numbers matching car is definitely worth more then a clone car.
  2. At the risk of sounding gruff, if you have to ask then you shouldn't be doing it.
  3. All right, ignore that. Now they are saying it's a Hispano Suiza. COACHBUILD.com • View topic - Some Million-Guiet Hispano-Suiza
  4. There are no provision for spares in the original photo. If you look at the details, door handle placement, louvers, window shape, drip edge, the cars look identical.
  5. The guys over at COACHBUILD.com - Home figured this out in 15 minutes. It's a 1930 Delage D8 with Million-Guiet body. COACHBUILD.com • View topic - Post any mystery car here This might even be the same car:
  6. Like I said before. What a great car. Andre, perhaps you could give us some of the history? Has it been in your family a long time?
  7. Big improvement. Blackwalls with chrome might look nice too.
  8. The roadster is black and green and does not work well in my opinion. Circus colors. Other than that it's a really great car and would be spectacular with a color change.
  9. A great car and certainly worthy of being finished but I guess I've never been a fan of the high-hat models that you see pre-1931 and post 1938 or so. Btw, I've never seen a Darrin with sidemounts before.
  10. I agree with every comment you made. The trunks make the cars look boxy and the Cord looked like a great project but I made the same comment about buying one for 125k (that was the actual number I used too) when I came upon it over in the ACD section of the Chocolate field. It might have been somewhere on here where the story of that Rollson bodied Packard was discussed. Seems they were going to make a shooting brake out of it until they stumbled on to the fact it was a custom built body.
  11. "Two of these 1933 cadillac V 16 conv. victorias exist. I never liked these, the proportions seem a bit off. " I agree, a two inch chop and things would much improved. However, I'm sure I could learn to love that car over time :-).
  12. The Dragone's custom bodied Packard in the first post is a truly great car in really horrible colors. My dad and I spent some time in the tent talking to Manny about it and he was pointing out all the custom details on the car. They also has a Hudson Boat-tail that had sold for full price on the first day that was really neat.
  13. My dad in 1958 and my dad 3 weeks ago. It runs in the family.
  14. You can buy the auction catalogs off of ebay. As for who bought the cars, I doubt that information exists or if it does I doubt its available.
  15. The first one you can clearly see the stickers on the ground. If the second one is volunteer parking that begs a different question. Call it whining if you want but the flea market is dying. It is sad to me and I'll admit most of it is not controllable but it is still an obvious fact.
  16. The Chocolate field has gotten really bad with RV and car parking. There are vendors actually selling in probably 50% or less of the spaces. Consolidation would be a good idea.
  17. That is a great car and I give you permission to capitalize the "C" in classic. I'm a big Pierce fan. There is a guy in Springfield Mass, John Cizlak at Classic Auto Restoration that has a bunch of Pierce parts.
  18. You might be able to get a older restoration L29 Coupe but the Chrysler CG with that body is going to be a lot more. The general rule of thumb I use on exact replicas is 25 cents on the dollar give or take. Note I'm saying EXACT replicas (i.e. original drive trains). This is something different and certainly harder to value. If it was an exact replica of a CG roadster then I would say the price is not totally crazy.
  19. I personally like the setback radiator. On the Mercedes 500k/540k the sportiest bodies got the setback radiator where everything was moved 5 inches backward on the chassis. Gave a very nice long look. The detail I dislike on this car is the position of the rear wheels in the well. Too far to the outside.
  20. Hard copy publication, newspaper, magazine or otherwise is a dying business. Hemmings was the bible for as long as I can remember. It is now 50% filler and an afterthought. It's sad in many cases but just the way things are going.
  21. Very nice. I assume that's Bob Bahre's collection?
  22. Bob, this is what I love about the HAMB. When guys with 3 posts start asking dumb questions they get roasted.
  23. What happens when your hand picked purchaser decides he needs to sell it and doesn't share your lofty ideals? See my previous comments about donating to a museum.
