    Hello

I remember when the Hollywood sport sedan came out of the estate in Washington and later when it sold in Arizona. Very cool car.
  2. I apologize if the car was there but I could not find it.
  3. Not any more I guess. I wasn't really thinking about the speedsters so much but go back about 10 or 12 years and you paid about 65k for a conv coupe and a decent speedster could be had for 120k. The other two that I thought were undervalued for years were the Packard Caribbean & the Packard Darrin. Again, maybe not so much anymore.
  4. 35/35 Supercharged Auburns for years but maybe not so much anymore. 1. Straight 8 engines. 2. Supercharged. 3. 2 speed rear end. 4. Outside pipes 5. Full gauges with a Tach 6. 100 mph capability.
  5. I think there is some interesting stuff found in various posts within this thread. I specifically liked the pictures of the Locke bodied imperials. If this thread is not worthwhile I can point you to about 500 other recent ones that are less interesting.
  6. So for future reference the source was?
  7. After studying your pictures a bit more I'm not sure. Would be interested in hearing what you discover. Neat car. Did you find it on eBay?
  8. It is a prewar German amusement/micro car. I believe it is spelled ehle or something similar.
  9. The side access door is a Derham feature too but I'm not sure if any ended up on Chrysler chassis.
  10. Jason, I believe this is a picture of the cowl behind the dash. This is not factory or Lebaron framing. If this was put together from an original LeBaron body they did a lot of reworking. The problem is that the value is diminished by the extent of the modifications. Also, you can see from the responses that many posters do not see this as even having started from an original LeBaron body. I think it might have it's just that it has been really reworked. For a forum that bends over backwards to welcome guys selling their grand mother's 87 crown vic, I do find the depth of negativity on this interesting. My advice would be to re-list it on eBay and include all the pictures you have here with higher resolution. Also, any and all history you can find for it. As is I don't see the seller getting 35k but with a little work (and skinnier wheels) it could be a neat resto-rod sort of deal for someone. good luck, A.J.
  11. I just had a chance to examine the photos full size. I don't think anyone can complain about a lack of pictures (which we frequently need to do around here). The negative feedback is due to the perception that someone taking an original CG roadster and rodding it is committing a crime against humanity. That was compounded by a rather poor eBay ad. It would be interesting to hear a chyrsler guy like Joe Morgan' opinion on this. Personally, the chassis, engine, fenders, hood dash, and interior could be removed and it would not change the value in my eyes. As I looked through the pictures I was looking for some original wood in the body. I don't believe I saw any. Perhaps if you removed a door panel and took a picture of what was behind it. Like I said in 3 other posts, if you can show that the body is more or less complete and an original CG Lebaron roadster then it's worth the 35k or maybe more. If not, then it's a 1980s rod that needs a lot of work is worth much less. Btw, if we discussed the CG number on the firewall at all? A.J.
  12. I apologize as I'm reading this on my phone. Do any of of the pictures indicate that the body is more or less intact and original? Like I said before - this is where all the value is.
  13. I'm not a steam guy so I'm sure they can give you a better answer then me. However, I would guess that the same issues that made it unpractical relative to internal combustion 80 years ago are probably still true. Time to warm the boiler. Loss of water, or the need to carry both water & fuel. The ultimate issue is gasoline is a highly efficient means of transferring energy with internal combustion being the best way to make it spin a wheel.
  14. A picture is worth a thousand words.
  15. Absolutely a myth. 540k cab a with modified body was painted gold in the 60s and advertised as the eva Braun car. It had since been restored.
  16. Dave, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he fully recovers. The car forums are a nice diversion but life gets in the way sometimes.
  17. + 1 I always felt the same way. 66/67 were my favorites but for some reason I always ended up with 68/69s.
  18. If the floors are not rotted and it runs then I'll say 2000-2500. Btw, you do not show the interior so I'm assuming it is usable.
  19. I like it. Is that really the dash that came in 1930 Franklins? looks a bit later to me.
  20. I disagree. I think it has value as a period custom but it would require some pictures to show what it looked like in it's race car configuration. A worthwhile project for someone that likes that stuff.
