Is 2800 pound trailer too heavy for a Skylark conv. to tow??
DizzyDale replied to 69sklarkconv's topic in General Discussion
"Am I going to ruin my car dragging this trailer around, or do ‘you all’ think it can do it with out damaging the car / frame?" Yes,It is my belief you are going to ruin a 40 year old car that was NEVER intended to tow ANYTHING.diz -
Dear Joe,I understand completely what you are saying but i believe all bets are off when you plug 69 Camaro SS/RS into the formula.Take Care.diz
-
Hey George,A couple ways of looking at it.How many '69 Camaros with the SS/RS option came with a 3 speed transmission?I would guess few, therefore making them scarce and desirable to some.As for a car i would buy to drive and enjoy doesn't sound like much fun.Works both ways as for value not much out there is stronger than a 69 Camaro.diz

Whats the deal with modified cars at Hershey
DizzyDale replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Discussion
Dear Joe,I CAN understand someone building a clone as the cost of a real one is prohibitive. The problem lies in the showing and selling of a fake,if it is advertised as a clone fine if in fact it's misrepresented someone should be going to the GREY BAR motel.diz -

Dizzy Dale's debris. (That is what he calls it.)
DizzyDale replied to Shop Rat's topic in Our Cars & Restoration Projects
Hey West,The car was factory built[approx.150 built] to comply with 1983 safety regulations.Larger rear taillights, energy absorbing front and rear bumpers, side marker lights front and rear.In regard to the factory built replica class these parts that are specific to the Aurora would have to be in place.Yes,No,Maybe????Cause i really like the smaller taillights and more delicate rear bumper. It seems to me that if i start switching parts out i will end up with just another MONGREL kit Cobra. Thanks for your input.diz -
Dear Cal,If i understand you correctly,it sounds like the pilot bushing in the end of the crank is grabbing the input shaft of the trans and not allowing it to slow or stop when the clutch is depressed. This is assuming you have a pilot bushing, that being said you do not have enough clearance between the crank and the input shaft. You need to measure the O.D. of the input and the I.D. of the hole in the end of the crank and report back with your findings.diz

Dear Richard,Great web site.Neat puppy in the junkyard pic GUARDING your new find.GOOD luck with your project, always had a soft spot for Corvairs as my Dad had a couple when we were growing up.During the course of ANY restoration it seems EVERYONE comes up with a body shop story errrr nitemare.Take Care.diz -
Dear Torino Lover,It's the BEST ,Rain or Shine it doesn't matter.Sounds like you are driving the car from Ohio.I am not sure what time they start letting you onto the showfield but i know they start lining up before sunup.Once you get your registration packet they tell you where to park and you can start the clean-up process.

What do you need to be careful about when buying a classic car?
DizzyDale replied to CarLuv's topic in General Discussion
Dear Thomas,To answer your question.....RUST,RUST and oh yea did i mention RUST.RUST does not discriminate, classic or everyday driver it dont matter.Anything you buy, save your sanity and your MONEY,it's the most expensive fix on any car.diz -
