  1. Hi, Matt... I left about 24 hours ahead of Wayne & Gloria to put up all those "stop at Pedro's" signs. Sorry about your experience with the vittles. I'll either fire the cook, or, start selling Alka-Seltzer...which ever is profitable <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Wayne...thanks for the photos. Still like those wide-whites on the truck! Have a good time in Ocala... Peter J...(a.k.a. Pedro's Mega Tourist El-Trappo Fast Cash Enterprises) <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
  2. awinkandasmile...Welcome to the AACA Forum. My thoughts are that you contact the Harford Region of the AACA. They are in your backyard. Bruce Wheeler b-dwheeler@erols.com or click on Community within the header of this AACA Forum. Scroll down to Maryland Regions, click on Harford Region. The Harford Region members may assist, or, at least give you direction. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  3. rustybolts..."Welcome to the AACA Fourm". Agree, a photo and any other pertinent information would certainly help. Photo attachment: --Enter your post. --Scroll down and you will see "I want to preveiw my post and/or attach a file. "click on it". --Go to your My Pictures, Photo Shop, or, wherever you have the photo filed. Highlight it. Click on attach. 4. Greg...thank you for your informative tips. Very well taken. Personally, I disconnect the battery on my TR6 "immediately" after loading it onto the trailer for a long haul to a meet, and, "immediatlely" after parking it in my garage upon return. The Trailer: A few years ago, there was a case example posted on our AACA Forum that was a disaster to say the least. Cannot recall the exact year of the car, however, venturing a guess, it was an early 1920 Ford. The folks were trailering home after a meet and the battery connections were not tight. The vibration within the trailer caused a short, smoke ensued, then, fire. If I recall, the car and trailer were destroyed. I totally agree with your suggestions. Thank you, Peter J...
  5. Excellent response, Matt. I echo your comments. My case scenario was, "if I can see it, a judge can see it". In 1998, received a 2nd Junior. In 1999 received a 2nd Junior. In late 1999, saw the light. Became serious about the "highlighted judging gigs". Took the sheet to the car over the Winter of 1999. Looked at each highlighted area with a fine tooth comb, saw gigs, corrected them, and, the rest is history. Takes time, the system is not perfect, but, it is the best system within the hobby. The "system" encourages one to do your homework within our hobby, not to take short-cuts, then on the big day, hope a judge on the show field is blind, or, ignorant of "as it left the factory". Regards and "Congrats on your Hershey Senior award". Peter J.
  6. How old is old? Please forward date ranges. May be interested. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  7. That is great, John. I am quite certain Bob & Pattie Giles will appreciate your efforts. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  8. Hi, Wayne...no sorry needed. Great photos you posted, not to mention the time. The Divco folks (Bob & Patti Giles, Bob Wood, etc.), were tied up driving their trucks onto the field "in parade". Obviously, they had no one to take a picture. Anyone who took photos of the parade would be greatly appreciated. Pedro... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  9. A group of 9 Divco Milk Truck hobbyists spent considerable time arranging a "Parade" onto the Hershey show field to include period uniforms worn by the participants. They spent an enormous amount of time and effort in orchestrating this event for the sole enjoyment of everyone at the Fall Hershey Meet. Any photos, or, access to photos, would be greatly appreciated. Please respond on this thread and we will assist. Regards and thank you in advance, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  10. Bob...your original thread went off topic quickly. I will start another. Regards, Peter J...
  11. Hi, Matt... Point well taken about signage. I take the blame for the lack of a DF Sign. I had it in my trailer and simply forgot to give it to Wayne. (I was somewhat busy with support chores this week.) Made note for next year... Best, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  12. Hello, Earthworm...Welcome to the Forum. In addition to forum participants responses, you could also try the AACA Library & Research Center. (On the home page, click on "Library" and self explanatory research instructions are there.) Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  13. Hi, Woody..."Come on back!!" The wind today certainly helped to dry things up. Spent the day at Hershey, was chilly, BUT, as is the norm every year, the trailers are all over Hershey proper, "the show will go on", the show field was a golf course, so, great drainage. See you there... Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  14. mr... You possibly have the answer at your fingertips. Try the AACA Library and Research Center. (click "Library" on the home page.) Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  15. 3Athlete...Welcome to the Forum. I echo the previous respondents. Made a huge mistake in 2000 using an open trailer. Placed soft blankets over the car, then, affixed a custom tarp (same material as 18-wheeler covered wagons). The constant air movement made the soft blanket fibres put very slight scratches "all over". They were easy to polish out, but, leave it uncovered then wash it. As West points out, even in an enclosed trailer, the constant vibration will gyrate the cover and may do damage. 16. Hi, Sparky... <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Thats just it you dont have to be a member to meet people. I have always meet people while at hershey and other car shows and membership isn't required. I have to admit the Library would be a very good reason to join but it isn't close to every one and now so much information can be found online. Of course not everything is avalable online but with discussion forums like this and others there are other ways to find information besides going to the library. Yes another reason to join would be if you actually wanted a voice in the clubs direction but some of us are perfictly happy with it the way it is and would probably be to lazy to vote for officers even if we were members. </div></div> My advise, based upon your comment above, would be to visit the AACA tent, the Library tent, and, hopefully, the Membership booths at Hershey. One can banter back and forth all day on a forum, however, you could benefit by talking with our representatives at Hershey in person. Give it a try, Sparky. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  17. Hi, David... Check out the topics I mentioned. So many participants go to the Forum for chatting back and forth, however, do not venture out of the General Forum chat section. Peter J...
  18. Another question to add, Bob: "how many vendors ask potential customers, while they have one's attention" if they are AACA Members and "instruct them how to join so future generations will carry the AACA torch"? It would benefit future vendors and the AACA to keep the hobby going forward after we are history. Just wondering... Peter J...
  19. Hi, David... Thank you for the response. On the Main Page: 1. RH Column lists: Forums, Meet Registration, FAQ's, "Library", Museum, and, most important for future generations, "Junior AACA". Click on each to "directly link" up. 2. On the "Header" of any post within any AACA Forum, or, Guest Forum, scroll to the top, slide the 'ole mouse to the yellow bar, and, all of the offerings/services of the AACA Forum appear with a drop down menu. Click on any in the "yellow bar" at the top while you are on the "Discussion Forum" without having to go back to the Main/Opening Page. Just scroll up to the top of the page. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  20. Hi, Lamar...great question. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">How often do you visit the AACA General Forum </div></div> I might add, how many venture to the Library & Research Center Forum, use the "Search Function to learn from past posts made by knowledgeable people" (many technical questions are archived for 5 years and are not utilized), the Museum Forum, and so on? Again, good question... Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  21. Great, JollyStreet...nice advertisement literature. Now we'll tap the knowledge of our forum members. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  22. Hello, JollyStreet...Welcome to the AACA Forum. Your attachment did not register. Please click on Edit, scroll down to "continue", click on "attach", go to the photo/verbage you want to attach, then, click on submit. Again, welcome aboard... 23. David (Novaman), thank you for the 2005 info. Alan, I made a note to at least stop by and say hello on behalf of you and your Uncle Jack if Jerry is attending this year... Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
  24. Hi, Alan... Looked at the Hershey Meet brochure for 1998 and it lists one Jerry Erickson, Westland, Michigan in the Chocolate Field space number C4D 8-10. He was at Hershey through 2003. (Mailed my '04 & '05 booklets to Forum members who could not attend, so, do not know if he was there in 2005) Will see when the 2006 is available to me. Regards, Peter J... <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
