  3. Hello, Jeff. I checked the on-line catalogue of the AACA Library & Research Center ("LIBRARY" icon on the AACA home page). Nothing under F.W. Vogler however, we have the following listed when I used the "Northwest Auto Company" as a search word. <span style="font-weight: bold">Marque or Author Jordan, Philip D. (Philip Dillon), 1903-1980 Title: National Road. Published: Indianapolis, Bobbs-Merrill Co. [1948] Description: 442 p. illus., map (on lining-papers) 23 cm. </span> On a daily basis, we are listing more literature so please do not assume the above "National Road" book is the only info we retain. Our AACA Library & Research Center is our repository for thousands of books, periodicals, tech manuals for automotive research. We retain a wonderful staff that could research your query to the fullest: Click on "Library" under "Resources" within the header of this page and submit a research request. (Self explanatory steps listed). <span style="font-weight: bold">NOTE: As an AACA Member you are entitled 1 1/2 hours of "free" research time per year by our staff. The $10 processing fee still applies. May be well worth your effort to submit a Research Request.</span> OR... 5. Hi, Charlie. The roof is galvanized not stainless. Prep instructions state scrubbing the roof with a water and TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) solution, rinse it well, and, let dry. Coated mine some time ago and 5/8ths of the roof is looking good. Noticed a few areas that I am in the process of touching up. Started to scrap it two weeks ago then rain halted my efforts. After Cumberland I'll finish it. No more than a 30 minute job. Peter J.
  6. Hi, Charlie. One cannot assume that everyone in AACA checks the forum. You could send an e-mail to the meet chairman. (Info is on the meet brochure.) Peter J.

  9. Hi, Charlie. I used 1.5 gallons and applied with a roller. The coating is of thin viscosity so it took 3 coats to build up the millage. The roof is galvanized like many trailers, thus, very hot heat retention. With the coating on it is slightly warm on days of 90-98 degrees. Lower than that, it is actually cool to the touch. Previously, one could burn their hand touching the unfinished galvanizing. Did not check the before and after inside temperature, however, it was like opening a blast furnace before coating. On very hot days now the air temp is actually comfortable when entering the trailer. FYI...Bought it at Keiffer's RV Sales, Stowe, PA up the road from you, Charlie. Regards, Peter J.
  10. Paul, Good points about the roof painting. I did just that 2 years ago after noticing the white coating on a school bus roof. Painted the galvanized roof on my trailer with Premium White "Elastomeric" roof coating (bought it at a local RV dealer). It forms a rubber-like coating that withstands expansion and contraction. Did a before and after check of the heat inside my un-ventilated trailer. It certainly makes a huge difference. Of note, it took 3 coats but well worth it. Peter J.

  12. You may want to add: --Grease the bearings, or, re-pack them. --At every hook up, I put grease on the ball and a dab on each of the stabilizer bars. --Tighten the receiver bolts on the tow vehicle as Howard Scotland mentioned years ago within an identical thread. (The trailer is always the main topic and seldom is the tow vehicle's receiver discussed.) --Tires dry out over the years. (Just replaced mine. They were 6 years old with good tread. Had 15,517 miles on them. Just did not trust them anylonger due to their age.) --Check the tongue lock plate that secures it to the ball for wear. Regards, Peter J.

  19. Hi, John. Very nice of you. Our AACA Library & Research Center would make a good home so future hobbyist could use them. Please give me until Monday so I could check with our Librarian, Kim Miller to see where your literature would fit the need. Thank you in advance, Peter J. Heizmann L&RC Committee
  20. Hi, Lars. I too have a 1972 TR-6. Owned it since new. My only experience with a similar vibration problem as yours turned out to be a worn universal joint. This happened many, many years ago and if memory serves me correctly, it generated the feeling that the transmission was going out. For starters, check the universal joint for wear and keep us posted. Here is a photo of my car in 2007. Regards, Peter.
  21. It is just a number...Happy Birthday and thank you for all your hard work... Peter J.
  22. Library News & Events LIBRARY SEMINAR AT THE ANNUAL MEETING The AACA Library & Research Center will be presenting a seminar in Philadelphia at the 2008 Annual Meeting on Friday, February 8. Opening with an explanation of the merger with the AACA and the benefits for the Library and AACA members, the audience will learn how the Library is bringing automotive history and people together. Panel members include Sally Barnett, 2007 President of the AACA Library and a librarian, Jeff Lesher, a Past President of the AACA Library, Eric Marsh, a senior master judge and member of the National Awards Committee and Kim Miller, AACA Librarian. Fran Shore, 2007 Vice-President of the Library will serve as moderator. As this seminar occurs over the lunch hour, feel free to bring your boxed lunch to the seminar. We also encourage everyone to stop by the Library Booth in the Trade Show and say hello. (Kim Miller, Librarian)
  23. Hi, Dave. Hope all is well. Personally, I have little to contribute to your questions, except, you may want to try the Vintage Triumph Register www.vtr.org Scroll down to the very bottom of their home page and you will see Technical Help. I just clicked on it and for the TR6 they note one Mark Pelham, Charleston, Ill (<span style="color: #3366FF">slimsqt@ma.rr.com</span>) as the technical guy for the TR6. Regards, Peter...
  24. Hello, Keith...Welcome to the AACA Forum. You may want to check our AACA Library & Research Center for further information. I doubt if they have info on how many have survived, however, we retain thousands of old vehicle manuals and literature awaiting your query. Worth checking out. Click on "Library" on the home page. Regards, Peter J. Heizmann...
  25. Hi, Earl. I have a 16' Southwestern trailer to haul my Triumph TR-6. Checked the literature I retained and it states GVW of 7,000 lbs. and an Unladen Weight of 2590 lbs. Granted, it is 8' shorter than yours, however, I would venture to say your 24' trailer is in the 3500 lb. unladen range as someone mentioned. Checked my Pennsylvania Trailer Registration Card and it notes an Unladen Weight of 2590 lbs. May want to check your Florida Registration info to see if it is noted. Agree with Paul Dobbin that 10-15% is the recommended loaded tongue weight. Regards, Peter...
