  1. Put a sheet of cardboard between the radiator and water pump. It will save your knuckles and the radiator. You might have to back a water pump stud out for extra room. I just rebuilt the water pump on a '30 Chrysler, put a lip seal in in and got rid of the string packing, packing nut hides the lip seal.
  2. Does anyone sell the main metering jet for a Stromberg DX-3 carburetor???
  3. OK made a trip to the garage and pulled a cap, threads measured 2.5".......... I tried!!
  4. I'll measure it tomorrow. The model 70 has 18" wood spoke. I'd have loaned it to you if it would fit.
  5. I had one made for my 1930 model 70 with wood spoke wheels, will this fit?
  6. Chrysler research people told me that 1931 was the year they started putting seals on the doors.
  7. AlBriCo 805-482-9792 AL Schioppi PO box 3179 Camarillo, CA 93011. Hope they are still in business. They did mine several years ago at a reasonable price. They polish the brass to a mirror finish, coat with a liquid aluminum, seal it with glass. No more tarnish and the lights are bright, no problem with night driving. Let me know how you make out. timandjuliawolfe1@roadrunner.com
  8. Contact Jay Astheimer @ 610-863-6955 in the evenings or astheime@ptd.net
  9. The restoration shop sanded mine then bleached them before putting finish on them. Of course this was very expensive. I've heard good things about soda blasting, takes finish off and doesn't hurt the wood. Cheaper too. Are the spokes tight and not cracked? There is a company in PA that can rebuild them if needed. Send me a personal message if you need their address.
  10. Not a 4 cylinder, model 70 used a 218.6 cu. in. engine. I think it looks like a model 70. See light bar.
  11. I have two 1930 Chryslers and they do not have any rubber seals around the doors or the rumble seat lid. We show the car at concours shows and I don't want to add it unless I know for sure it is correct. I've never been docked points at AACA meets for not having them on my car. Steele Rubber doesn't show anything. Would be nice to keep the water & dirt out of the car. The front window used rubber seals.
  12. When did Chrysler start using door seals and trunk seals?
  13. Check out Daytona Carbs web site. They have a new carb to replace the old single barrels. I might switch over to something like this when I stop showing the car in concourse shows and AACA meets.
  14. Same caps that are on my two 1930 Model 70's! John Keiser is correct (Again!!)
  15. I've had very good response from Then and Now, talk to Lisa there. They supplied me with fuel pumps for my early production 1930 ( built in 1929) Chrysler model 70's. Perfect match and they rebuilt one for me. Very good people to deal with. Call and talk to them about your pump.
  16. Try Jay Astheimer astheime@ptd.net 610-863-6955 evening call preferred. He may be able to help.
  17. Classic Carbs web site lists a DXR-3 rebuild kit for $160. Let me know if you have trouble finding the site.
  18. Contact them, ask for Bruce Iceman. They didn't have what I needed but are making the parts.
  19. Try Classic and Exotic Services. They have a web site.
  20. Do a web search for John Wolf and Co, or John Wolf Gauge repair. He does excellent work.
