WTB: 22 special six speedometer
George Rohrbach replied to Linus Tremaine's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
Can you post a pic of the speedometer face? That would help identify it to try to match it up. -
Tom, I don't remember if we talked about this. Please provide the Studebaker parts numbers that you need, and I will take a look, at my stuff. I actually own S1 and S2, that are the Studebaker dealer inventory boxes, for brake parts, for the late 20's and early 30's. Some of my brake parts have been placed in the wrong bins over the years also. So besides the Studebaker parts #, I might need a pic. in addition. Of course, some of those little bins are empty, after all these years.

I think that Mike came to one of the National meets, and brought his car, all the way from England! -

Craig, Thanks, you are always Johnny-on-the-spot to help out. It is appreciated. Actually your pic helps on another post! -
I am not sure what you mean by Windscreen garnish? Can you explain? I may have the front and back that you are looking for. Where are you located? For shipping info.

Any stripping out a 1939 Comm or President?

I am not positive which of these handles are for the '39. I think I know, but I am just not 100%. Pick 1, 2, or 3. Tell me which you are in need of please. All of my parts are not so easily accessible these days, given the situation. -

Stude Light - Great kit you put together!

Sorry Dave, mine was at a place that I couldn't get to, for a few days. I still might have it, if your new one doesn't work out.

1922 Light SIx Touring King Pins
George Rohrbach replied to George Rohrbach's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
Dan, I am thinking that I would like 4 of the lower ones, and the 2 keyed ones. I will talk to my machinist tomorrow, to make sure he wouldn't like 6. I will get back to you. Please email me at georgr@ptd.net to discuss specifics. I don't think that I can use the kingpins, but I sure appreciate you looking! -
1922 Light SIx Touring King Pins
George Rohrbach replied to George Rohrbach's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
Thanks to all for the advice! It appears as if my machinist is going to make new pins, with updated grease design. He will turn new bushings with alloy from McMaster-Carr, I am not sure if he picked the same alloy. He is still discussing the hardness with the heat treat company. The old pin measures hardness at Rockwell C55. My pins were worn at the top and bottom, so I couldn't use Stude Light great trick. Dan, I can use 2 or 4 of those special washers, as I do have a lot of play up and down. I can get by with what I have; if I need to, but you would save my machinist from having to shave down my existing, well worn ones, and also would require more shims. Let me know when you know or will get to know. Pic is attached so you know dimensions. I have some that are much larger diameter, that are for the Special and Big Six models. Terry, I also thought of what other pins could be used, but, there is nothing that I could find that comes close enough to attempt. Thanks again! -

When you have them made, what alloy , case hardened or nitride, and to what depth? Do you have a guy? -
I have taken mine out, and they need to be replaced. What have others done? Trying to figure out my options.

ASC chairman 2020 meet
George Rohrbach replied to commander Dave's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
The both of you are welcome to ride with me for the 1st Tour. You could have the back seat on my '22 Light Six Touring. As long as it is relatively nice out, the top will be down, so I suggest a hat, and sunglasses. Let me know, for sure. George Rohrbach -
