  1. Yes, they do accept dogecoin: https://news.bitcoin.com/mecum-auctions-now-accepts-digital-currency-payments-for-collector-cars/
  2. Spent hours reading his book on Duesenbergs.
  3. The problem is that the rarity does not add any value. Kind of weird looking and tired. For essentially the same price you could have gotten this: https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/am19/amelia-island/lots/r0009-1929-cadillac-v-8-sport-phaeton-by-fisher/725455
  4. Low estimates of $3.5 million and $2.75 million! makes the reserve around $3 million and $2.5 million. I realize that the collector market is on fire but these seem outrageous high. Especially since the Victoria sold for under a million 8 years ago, or so. I would much prefer the Murphy torpedo at RM than the Rollston JN and can’t believe they have the same estimates. does Mecum take dogecoin?
  5. I think if you left the top down with a body color cover, it would look ok.
  6. Don’t do it. It will only add to your headaches.
  7. 2017 laferrari is the aperta (convertible). Major major league. Not just a Ferrari, The Ferrari.
  8. How about this one: https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/26618/lot/208/
  9. I think all collectors are nuts. Some like to drive them. Some just like the satisfaction of owning and displaying. I have no problem with either. These cars are are well looked after. to me, what is worse is the person who buys a car or a collection of cars and lets them sit outside. Rotting. Or takes it apart and never finishes the car. The parts are lost or scrapped when the widow has to deal with disposing of his stuff. sounds like it will be a museum and open on a semipermanent basis.
  10. Sure. It is not the cars I would spend that amount of money on. It is focused on muscle cars, but still impressive for what it is. I do like all the hemi cars and the Shelby cars are great, especially the Daytona coupe. The owners must be Mecum’s best customers.
  11. Ok. But you are in the minority. I’d guess over 90 percent of ccca senior cars have their badge on the cowl, drilled with screws.
  12. Also, the car achieved the award and when the award is attached to the car, it goes with the car to the next owner.
  13. Mecum sells the F birds for 200k+ routinely. They sold the only yellow one for $290k in 2019. White might hold it back, though. if you are a three or four comma guy, and want a 57 t-bird, this is what you buy. Pop the hood and a factory supercharger is on display. I think it appeals to t-bird guys, Ford guys who otherwise would not own a t-bird, and even some muscle car guys. There is a black with red leather one around me with black walls and dog dish caps. He drives it to the local grocery store. I doubt he cares if anyone thinks it is a d bird. when touring his collection, he gets to pop the hood and tell you about Ford’s response to the duel cabs of the corvette.
  14. 1929 Packard 640 Roadster Custom https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/packard/640/2484633.html
  15. As I remember, The HAMB is about traditional style hot rods. Not all street rods are viewed favorably on that site. They don’t like LS engines or modern crate engines, or fiberglass bodies, etc.
  16. Bizarre. Should be a warning to all sellers( dealer or individuals) as the perils of selling cars to today’s buyers and a warning that representations can come back to bite.
  17. What if the pictures show a high quality car that you have been searching for at a price you would pay, but with a generic description? You walk on by? 99 others would call.
  18. https://hibid.com/lot/86486008/2016-intech/?status=hot&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb-paid&utm_content=04-13-2021_cars_ongoing&q=&ref=lot-list What do you guys think of this ?
  19. Actually, that is smart on the dealers end. The seller then can state that no representations we’re made on this car.
