  1. So Lovely! That engine is everything great about the period. I looked up a quote reported by the late-great Beverly Rae Kimes; " One drives an Alfa, one is driven in a Rolls, and one give his mistress a Delage." Those were the days!
  2. Is SAN active in all states? It seems that the states are where the this push is coming from, rather than a national agency. Thanks for your work in this field...desperately needed.
  3. Here's a Swedish Ice Racer in 1955. Don't let it run over your foot!
  4. A very similar rotary "plow" is still used on the tracks over Donner Summit in the sierras when there is a heavy winter.
  5. This Forum is a great source on most things and I bet your question was answered by the above replies, but you should be aware for this site: https://www.mgexp.com/forum/ They are as committed as the folks here, but more focused. Leif
  6. I have a reprint of the 1897 Sears catalog. It's 786 pages and has everything you might need in life, from baby clothes to head stones.
  7. Actually, I remember reading an article in the mid 60's about busses in Switzerland that were powered by a flywheel that was charged at each stop!
  8. Many (most) of these never come up for a vote in the Senate. It's up to the leader (in this case Chuck Schumer). Also, if they do come up, it's often sort of a ceremonial vote because it takes 60 votes to pass, so the result is usually known ahead of time. It's easy to vote for or against something when you know your vote won't make a difference.
  9. If you were going to sell a car, wouldn't you at least uncover it? Geeez! 1923 Buick Model 55 Tourer, 6 cylinder. This was the top of the line tourer model for Buick in 1923. The wood body structure is in exceptional solid condition, which is big when it comes to these cars, the rest is downhill from there in a 1920s restoration, now all it needs is the mechanical, paint and interior. Has a rear mounted spare, trunk, engine and transmission were removed in 70s but I have both and I have a complete extra motor for it. Appears to be fairly complete with most everything there to complete a restoration. Serious buyers only, no tire kickers. I don't need to sell it, but I probably should, its currently just cave man art. My age and health make it so I no longer have the time for this project. Also posted is a picture of another 1923 Model 55 so you can see what it will look like finished. Don't ask if it's still available, Don't ask if you can pay for it in advance with Zelle or Venmo. No internet transactions. Cash upon pick up, no holds. 1st come 1st to arrive
  10. Old Washington Custom: The party that holds the house passes all sorts of stuff to show their "base" they are trying, knowing full well it won't go anywhere. Both parties do it.
  11. Makes you wonder what's missing. Is the last picture "before" or "after"? https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/cto/d/irvine-1919-ford-model-speedster/7665038328.html 1919 Ford Model T Speedster not running, yet "Calls Only" will not respond to text or email (949) 422-6213
  12. Doesn't seem to seem to be a desirable modification! https://slo.craigslist.org/cto/d/paso-robles-1931-chevrolet/7661716291.html (805) 440-9853
  13. At first I thought "maybe if they painted the fenders black"...then I realized it didn't help! How about orange wheels with white walls?
  14. "Still has that "Toyota scent/smell" inside!" Probably leaking propane.
  15. No interior pictures! If the inside is in similar conditions to the outside, this would be a nice car at a good price. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/fremont-1939-lasalle/7666823031.html 1939 LaSalle matching numbers rebuilt engine V8 runs great, body and paint great. $18,000 obo Vin# 229-5715 Garaged kept Call Dennis @ (510) 796-nine two 3 one

  17. You really can see things in the UK that don't happen here and this is a great example. I remember a mostly Ferrari event at Laguna Seca about 20 years ago, but these days they are all locked away in air conditioned vaults. The UK also has an unbelievable pre-war hill climb series that draws hundreds of cars.
  18. I think the Cobra crowd has that category covered, although they have a very firm grip on which ones are "real" and which are "air cars". Unfortunately, if it weren't for the "replicas" or cars with complicated provenance many historic racing fields would be mighty slim.
  19. Looks like a sound example of a great car, but the price seems very high....(probably a little high even if it could run and drive). https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/san-jose-1938-cadillac-lasalle-coupe/7662867324.html 1938 Cadillac LaSalle coupe 15000 obo needs full restoration complete car original engine and transmission engine is not locked up Zero cancer only surface rust (408) 401-7169
  20. I'm not aware of a set service life on any catalytic converter! The whole concept of a chemical catalyst is it's not consumed in the reaction. Maybe if it were made by Lucas....
  21. In 1976 all the automakers were struggling to meet the new smog regulations. MG put this rather charming clock-work box in the middle of the speedometer cable which claims to track the useful life of the catalytic converter. I don't know of any other automaker who even considered this!
  22. I know there is an active club in Northern California, so if the price is right there will be some interest. I don't know where people come up with these silly prices! There's currently a Model T coupe, nice but nothing special, restored sometime years ago, offered on CL for $35,000. The only way it could be worth that much is if it was previously owned by Steve McQueen or Elvis! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/d/hayward-1926-ford-model-coupe/7661811385.html
  23. More pictures would be good...also you should put it on the Chrysler buy/sell forum. Looks very nice and fairly priced.
