  1. Too bad about the seats but the price seems fair assuming its a good runner.
  2. We are going to have a couple of days this week that will be 100, and most of my neighborhood (including me) doesn't have A/C. Hopefully the fog will return soon!
  3. An associated question is should you keep the tank full or empty. Many feel full is best so the inside of the tank is not exposed to air and water vapor, which can cause rust. Here in California, I try to keep it as empty as possible because our old gas really degrades from all the vegetable content. There's a very respected mechanic in town who only works of "vintage" cars. He told me the fist thing he askes when someone brings in a car that isn't running right is "How old is the gas?" Also, either way, use a gas stabilizer. You probably won't be burning through a tank full very often.
  4. OK, my ignorance is showing again! At least (unlike stupidity) it's curable. How do you get one of those neat signs? What is the cost to members?
  5. The thing about these calculations for present value of old prices is that they don't take into account of the way the world has changed. Today, anyone with a decent job can get a 7 year loan and buy a Chevy Tahoe for $64K. In '34 this car was not within reach of many.
  6. This ad has been up for 2 weeks and no takers! I wonder if they'd have more luck if they said $700 OBO. It sounds worthless....(could also use more pictures) https://vancouver.craigslist.org/bnc/cto/d/coquitlam-cadillac-needs-work-free/7757772361.html $100 or free to someone who can move it. Needs some love, but a great project for someone who loves to restore cars! Call or text @ 604-849-1402 to view it

  10. These are interesting cars that get a lot of attention, but I think this is overpriced given condition. I have no recent data to back it up but my guess is that a "nice one" would be a $20K car plus or minus, and you can't get there from here.
  11. Now back to $25K... https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/orange-1948-pontiac-streamliner-deluxe/7761345206.html email: 488a6fdb92323499bcbb954554dc28a8@sale.craigslist.org

  13. Good to see they blocked the decades old license plate belonging to someone deceased who probably never had current tags. You can't be too careful! P.S. in California, this data is very secure. Even police officers can't just randomly look up a plate.
  14. Interesting ambitious project...I'd be OK with the later engine, but not all the work it needs! https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/san-rafael-1947-cadillac-seriers-62/7761377075.html This is a non running project car. It belonged to my (now deceased) uncle and I am selling it on behalf of his trust for his niece. He owned it my entire life and always intended to fix it up but never got the chance. It comes with all the parts he collected for it over the years plus some original manuals and other misc. stuff. The body seems to be in quite good shape with only surface rust and the dent on the front left fender (see pic) being the worst of it. As near as I can tell, the engine is not the original flathead and is actually from 1949 or so. The tires actually held air, but they are pretty much done for. I reported the mileage on the odometer but cannot vouch for it. If you are interested in this vehicle you probably know more about it than I do so you should probably be pretty serious before you reach out (meaning you have the cash to buy it and the means to transport it and you are interested in doing so). email; f2fb851acce83da8a380e34f3f7e94ee@sale.craigslist.org
  15. Here are the (very few) pictures from the Garage Find site:
  16. You have to wonder...also, it's been a long time since it rained, so why use those pictures?
  17. Right O! I did search and read the earlier thread, but somehow missed page 3. Sad story. I think mental illness is as common as physical illness, but our bias doesn't allow us to see it.
  18. Why someone would take pictures at night in the rain is beyond me! Price seems pretty high given condition. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/san-anselmo-47-hudson-commodore-six/7760803732.html $20,000 obo cash & trades considered. Runs great! Needs front end bushings but can be driven anywhere within 100 miles or maybe more. It's never been hit, Has a brand new clutch plate and throw out bearing. I have some hard to find part's to go with it. It's registered till 2025 brakes working great as supposed to. Some wiring needed, it's 6 volt + ground Upholstery is good, glass alright, needs some weather stripping and windage lace, floors are solid, tires are new, white walls from cooker tire. Clock works somewhat, and all the lights work also. Transmission works but won't go in reverse. email: a1eeb6fd5e863bb1ab22527d38c8b1c7@sale.craigslist.org
  19. 20. Great job! I used "Fast Signs" to make new numbers to restore the speedometer on a '51 Simca where the numbers and lettering were painted on the glass. It's a project that didn't support a high end Speedo restoration, but now it looks very good and it was $50! They can do surprisingly small and fine work!
  21. This story was back on the Hemmings Daily today, stating that the person is facing felony charges. I'm wondering if the police ever offered any opinion on motive. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/news/antique-automobile-club-vandalized/?_gl=1*2q7dhn*_gcl_au*MTQ5NjExMTEzNy4xNzE2MzMzMjAx*_ga*MjQxMzE0NDA.*_ga_4SRTTWZ463*MTcxOTU0MzQzNy4zNy4xLjE3MTk1NDQxODIuMTYuMC4xNzY3MzE5Mjc0&utm_medium=email&utm_source=EDaily&utm_campaign=2024-06-28&uemlid=5c52623cdf01c39cebf1f9966b2e8670a226918da0306e2d4b2032cdc6ca47ec
  22. I also don't fancy the colors, but this is a lot of car for not much beyond Model A money!
